Perfect place to celebrate any occasion

My wife and I had celebrated our anniversary last saturday - 02.23.2008. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. Very cozy and relaxing place. Wine selection is great. Food was delicious. We had Crisp Duck Confit With a confit and leek crepe, prunes and roasted garlic and Rotisserie Lamb Leg of lamb with a chickpea and rosemary filled crepe. It was really really good. The lamb was a little salty for my taste, but it was melting in my mouth. Greatly recommend this place for any type of celebration.

    Pleasant Experience at Maison

I first ordered on Seamlessweb from Maison, and considering the constraints of the quality of food in delivery, I was nonetheless pleased. I decided I wanted to try the restaurant in person. It's still part of the Times Square tourist area but overlooking that - the food is great value for a french bistro. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. The wine selection is great as well. I had potato wrapped trout which was prepared very well. I also had a French onion soup which I've had better of in other places. I enjoyed their profiteroles dessert as well but it was not amazing. Overall though, this bistro has great value, cute decor, and the food is pretty good.

Better than French Roast for late night

Food, atmosphere and service are all as good as you're going to get for bistro food at 4 AM. We were seated in a cozy banquette, with more seclusion than the typical open space table seating. I had a mixed green salad with vinaigrette and steak frites. Both dishes were a notch better than the French Roast/L'Express versions. The steak was well trimmed and cooked correctly. The light is flattering but not dark. Music is at a comfortable level. The diners were well behaved which isn't always the case at the downtown French bistros. Our waitress was happy to serve a bottle of wine at 3:45 which we drank during an hour and a half of relaxed eating, so that's nice as well.

    Ordering on Seamlessweb

Ok, was the food tasty? Yes. However, was I disappointed? Totally. For $24 I got a Tuna Nicoise Salad and a hot chocolate. For the price I was expecting a little more than I got .First, my salad had no lettuce. It was just tuna fish, tomatos, green beans and anchovies. Not saying it wasn't good - just not what I wanted. Plus, it was a little bit on the oily side. The hot chocolate (although the size was much better) was Swiss Miss or some substitute. I love Swiss Miss - it just wasn't what I wanted and wasn't what I would have spent $4 for. Needless to say - this place might be great but think twice if your ordering off of Seamless

    Exceptional Service

The food was good and the service was exceptional. I liked the outdoor seating but it was a bit cramped.

    good little french place

Maison is a great place for lunch or dinner and the outdoor seating is great when the weather is nice. The service isn't amazing. The staff always seems a little bit aloof. Overall a good place to go for inexpensive french food. Try the roast chicken with mashed potatoes!

    Great Lunch

Maison is a great place for lunch. There is a big variety of choices, from a straight forward, delicious, burger to more traditional French fare like pate, escargot and steak frites. They have a very good selection of wines by the glass with incredible values and surprising choices. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun and the service has been very efficient. I will continue bringing guests, the place is never disappointing.
