Walk, but don't run
OK, first thing first. The macarons are good. Better than most places (but not as good as Maison du Macaron on 23rd street.) But here's what's so annoying about Laudree: the service is poor. The lines are endless. And the reason they're endless is because the place is understaffed and the women working there pack each macaron as if it is precious cargo. Perhaps some people like this sort of weird fetishization of food - I find it a bit silly. Moreover, it bothers me because it takes them 10 minutes for every customer (OK, maybe a bit of an exaggeration.) But I went today and there were about 5 people in front of me and it took over 20 minutes to get my macarons. Several people left because it was taking so long. I've seen the place with lines down the block - I'd never go back unless there little more than one or two people waiting (which is never the case.)
