This upper upper east side restaurant is absolutely delicious. Beautiful cozy atmosphere and great service. The tikka masala and saag paneer are so good I could not stop eating even after I was stuffed. The lamb curry (not on the menu but you can request it) is incredible. Delicious!

I am a foodie who has travelled to more than 75 countries and have had the pleasure to imbibe all kinds of cuisines. I have been to Indian restaurants In Paris, All over India, NYC, Africa etc. I know good food and i must say just taking one bite of the Saag Paneer sent my brain into ecstatic heavenly convulsions. The garlic naan was so divine and i got some spicy mint green chutney on the side yuumm yum its as though they just picked the mint fresh of the farm. I can't explain this but all dishes taste like they have some kind of secret vegetable garden growing in the back and they just plucked it from the earth and prepared the dishes. Amazing, flavorful, mouth watering so so good! The staff is very sweet and so humble with sweet smiles. This restaurant is a boon to this neighborhood and i have a feeling soon their will be lines of people trying to get in from all over. TWO THUMBS UP!

Great to see they've re-opened (as of 12/11). Been missing the Machli Malabar and garlic naan!

i really enjoy ordering takeout from this place but due to some problems with the building and it has been closed for several weeks. The answering machine says they will re-open the first week of December - but it hasn't yet. I sure hope it opens again soon!

I am usually not a fan of spicy food but this is my only exception. The food is very tasty and the service is excellent.

We have lived on the UES for over 5 years and found almost of the offerings here to be poor to . Maharaja was a pleasant surprise. Nothing compares to our usual place, but we cant make it to midtown too often for our restaurant indian food fix.
