    Great

Hi, I have been trying out local indian places in 10128 area. This place is great! Lots of vegetarian stuff and the cheese is so tasty (which is rare). Sauces are so fresh - the green sauce is bright green. It looks like it was made 5 minutes ago. Tandori was great. good sized portions.

    Delightful surprise!

Far above average neighborhood Indian at neighborhood prices. Carefully balanced spice combinations. Attentive service that's genuinely friendly and not a bit pretentious. We will return again and again to this unanticipated winner!

    Despicable Service

The food is decent here, and cheap. But the service is despicable. I was having lunch with a friend today when another friend came in. Despite the fact that the restaurant was virtually empty and party no. 3 was 6 months pregnant, the rude server refused to let us pull up another chair for her to join us. Or to let us switch to another table. "What if 100 people suddenly showed up?" he shouted at us. But our friend is pregnant, we said. "I don't care." Our friend wound up leaving and eating somewhere else. Outrageous. We've been to Maharaja Palace numerous times, with parties both large and small, but never again.

    Amazing Indian!

Best Indian food on the UES! They have the most delicious and authentic Indian food in the neighborhood. Great place to take friends and family, and their waiters are always nice and happy to have you. Their lunch buffet is also a great deal and so delicious. It is also Go-To spot for all of Mount Sinai's doctors, nurses and staff. Everyone loves it!

    Many Better

We went for the lunchtime buffet at $9.95 on a weekday. There were about 3 tables with customers all ordering buffet (so the one waiter's attention was not extended). Still we never had our water refilled only once long after a couple of requests, and glasses empty for quite a while. The buffet had salad, saag which was good, an eggplant in tomato based sauce which was good, and a lamb dish with lots of bone but still very tasty. A chicken dish also incorporated the curry used in the lamb dish. The tandoori chicken did not taste of any oven and there was no charred flavor even though the meat was charred. A lentil dish was OK, but the chicken tikka masala was amazingly bland. Naan was freshly made upon request. There was a carrot dessert and watermelon. There are less expensive (eg Chennai) buffets although $9.95 is not expensive but average; there are better tasting buffets. There is no reason to come back.

    My Favorite Indian Restaurent

Prawn Tandoori masala, Chilli chicken and Lamb chops masala are my favorites. The service is very good and nice atmosphere. Usually I order and will be ready in half an hour to take home.

    Best in the UES

Truly amazing indian food. Very consistently good. We especially like the samosa, chicken tika, and lamb korma. All are awesome. Less oily than some of its competitors...
