    It's good

The food here is good. It may not be the cajun everyone is used to but the portion size is great for the price your paying. Overall, the food is worth taking a second and third sampling. I know I will. Just one question are they open on the weekends?

Ehhh .... might as well call it chinese

Just ate it after tasing their bourbon chicken on the street. Well thanks for the free sample ... but I was somewhat unhappy. Their food just tastes like typical american chinese food with a spice here or there you could call "cajun"??? The portions are good sized .. but really it's just lunchtime filler with little or no resemblace of anything cajun. Thanks for the free sample Maggies ... but someone from your org needs to take a trip down to LA and take a notebook with them.

    Eh

Food is not great at all, but if you have $8 and need to get as much food as possible this is your spot.

    Finally Something Different

I've worked on John Street for 2 years and had never tried Maggie's.. A co-worker and I went there this afternoon and I must say that I shall most definitely be returning. Although it wasn't really "Cajun", the veggies were fresh and the portions HUGE. Great value. BBQ chicken is awesome..

    You get your money's worth

I first came across Maggie's while meandering in lower manhattan. I was impressed with the person giving out free samples that encourages people to go inside to see what else Maggies has to offer. Overall the service was great, staff is friendly. Gotta have the blackened fish. Yum Yum!

    Maggie?s buffet of Junk

This place calls itself a Cajun Grill and has no Cajun and no grill. Just because you put cayenne pepper on something, doesn't make it Cajun. There is much more involved in Cajun cooking, but Maggie has no idea about that. It is just a bunch of hot plates keeping it hot. Tuxedo Jones had the gumbo and it was just spicy tomato soup with, onion, celery, and half a shrimp in it. Tuxedo Jones is not a Cajun, but he did live in Cajun Country for some time. He was even a regular at the Shrimp and Petroleum Festival in Morgan City. Tuxedo Jones has never eaten a tomato based gumbo until Maggie's buffet. It has always been roux based. Maybe Ol? Tuxedo is wrong. Maybe this is the best "cajun grill" around, but he doesn?t think so. If you are looking for a Cajun fix, look elsewhere.
