Don't order "cocktails" here unless you BYOB!
The mashed potatoes (with garlic and scallions embedded) and greens (al dente) that came with my fried chicken (deep-fried rather than pan-fried, so not what I'm accustomed to, but OK in its own way) were delicious, but don't ever order anything off their "cocktail" menu--their $9 mixed "drinks" are so weak you need to BYOB! Also, dress warmly--it was so drafty where I was seated that I never took my coat, hat, or scarf off the whole time I was there.

They need to bring the old chef back
I don't think I've ever written a food review, but since Maggie Brown used to be one of my favorite brunch spots I felt compelled. Most notable was the fried chicken which I would have ranked as some of the best in the city. I moved and hadn't been back in quite a while. They have clearly changed chefs. I ordered the fried chicken and was terribly disappointed. Some of the worst I've had...ever. Hard to imagine how something fried could ever taste this bland but somehow they found a way. Please please search out the old chef and bring who ever it was back or scrap the existing recipe and start over again. Very unfortunate to see what has happened.

Excellent smoked salmon platter
Went for breakfast. Really good coffee and the best smoked salmon platter (bagel, cream cheese, tomato, onion, green salad) I've had in ages, and a great value at $10.

Awesome Experience
I too heard Maggie's was making a comeback so decided to check it out last week. I hadn't been here since last year after a bad delivery experience. I am happy to say that Maggie's is definitley back! We had a little bit of everything - the deviled egg of the day, the mussel special, the crab cakes, the fried chicken ... everything was fantastic, perfectly cooked. I will be a repeat customer!!

Maggie's is back!
Went here on Friday because I heard they got a new chef this month. What an improvement. The fish special was perfectly seasoned. The fried chicken is off the hook and the peanut butter pie is reee-diculous. I can't wait for the back yard to reopen.

Good God....Intervention!
What happened to the Ribs! What happened to the Sausage Gravy? Is there anyone sitting in here? What happened to my neighborhood restaurant? HELP!

sad...
Maggie's was my favorite until yesterday, I read the bad reviews of the new chef but still went. The bacon was raw on my fish club - the fish over cooked. the jalapeno grits - flavorless. Makes me sad since this was always my standby. :( Please work on this new chef!
