    Great place to tan!

So my boyfriend just came back from Miami and we thought it would be a great idea to start the day with a nice brunch. When we arrived to the establishment we were greeted by a hospitable hostess when Hannibal Brown ushered us directly to a table in front of a gigantic window. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but the sun happened to beam directly on my back and his face. My boyfriend asked the host if it was okay if we moved to an available table and he simply brushed him off and seated another couple at the table (jerk). I took immediate offense to this, but my boyfriend wanted to concentrate on the bigger picture (despite the waitress rubbing her goodies all over his arm) ... his return from Miami. Minutes later our food arrived and it tasted great, however the combination of hot food and the tanning booth was too much for me to handle so we asked to bag the food. Hannibal could care less if we were satisfied with our meal or experience. He definitely had a "good, get the hell out attitude" as we were leaving.

    Great comfort grub!

I just moved into the neighborhood from the city a few weeks ago and am so happy to have found this place! The other night my girlfriend and I were walking around Myrtle Avenue looking for something to eat and the cool interior view from the outside caught our eye and drew us in. The food was so delicious and the portions. are. huge. At least on the fried chicken plate. My girlfriends salad was big but more appropriately sized. Our waitress was cool and efficient and the rest of the staff seemed nice also (the bartender came over to discuss cocktail choices with us-very cool). Love love love this place and will definitely be coming back.

    Real. Good.

I love coming here. Very cool space inside. Wonderfully adorable backyard. Specialty drinks and beers that really are special, without costing as much as some entrees. Some REALLY great food (wings, mac n cheese, devil eggs, burger) Service very often friendly and neighborhood-y, but professional enough to get the job done (not ALWAYS, but usually). ALL this= great neighborhood restaurant/hangout for me.

    Decent food, poor service

My fiance and I went for Saturday brunch after having read multiple positive reviews. Upon arriving we asked if we could sit at an open booth but were told that they were reserved for parties of 3 or more only. We were seated a rather cramped table which was wedged in between other tables. A few minutes later another party of two was seated at the available booth... Our waiter was relatively attentive but also curt and unfriendly. We ordered the Maggie Brown omelet and Mexican lasagna. Both were good, neither were particularly exciting. We have eaten at several other restaurants in this neighborhood since moving here in January and have been impressed with the creative and well prepared meals we have discovered. While our meal Maggie Brown wasn't bad, the food did not make up for the lacking service. Better food can be found in the same price range throughout Fort Greene.

brunch rocks, dinner OK, decor amazing

The biggest reason to go to Maggie Brown's frankly is the incredible wallpaper. The decor is just terrific there. The second biggest reason is that the brunch is really terrific, and they make the best bloody mary's around. For dinner, I prefer other places in the neighborhood because you can get better food for the same price nearby. But I will take my hat off to the buffalo wings.

    vegans

I really like the place a lot. I would only like it more did they offer a little more for people with allergies or vegans - since i end up always eating scrambled tofu. On the up side - they have it! It does get crowded on saturdays and some nights so that's a downside for me - but other people seem to like that sort of thing. So my rating is high because they are consistent, fairly priced and the staff will let you sit and eat without being in you face constantly.

Strong drinks and tasty comfort food

The rosemary infused vodka martini is unbelievable. The burgers are flavorful, the mac n cheese is sinful and the salads are fresh and unique. I settle into a booth here at least once a week and have never been disappointed.
