I just got their spaghetti and meaballs delivered. Delivery was speedy, and they were really nice, but the meatballs were GIGANTIC (could be a plus in some books, but I found it kind of gross). And, there was almost no sauce on the pasta. If you like that, though, it's a dream dish! I will definitely order from them again, just not this dish.

We had ordered from here once before and it was pretty good so we tried again tonight. We ordered a Grandma's Pizza, Chicken Parm Hero, and salad. The Hero and salad were good but the pizza was clearly under-cooked. It was doughy in the middle. I put 2 slices in the toaster oven to finish cooking them when my husband pointed out how silly it was to have to re-cook the whole pizza that we had just bought! He called Maffei to tell them the problem and the "boss" told him that he was wrong and that it was not undercooked! After a few minutes of arguing back and forth, they sent over a new pizza to exchange for the undercooked one. When the delivery boy got to the door he took the undercooked pizza and had us take 2 pieces out of the new pizza to make up for the 2 missing slices that we toasted! This is Ridiculous! Are they stupid?! We won't be back.

Fantastic friendly service (he loves the Mets though...) and cheap, cheap lunches. "$2 for that, $2 for that..." Great food too. Not too heavy, juuuust right. On a meager NYC salary, their food is a respite of hope for survival in the City:o)

this place rules. the pizza is very good- especially the grandma slices. but it is the pastas, the vegetables, the meat loaf, and the delectable fried shrimp... mix and match as you wish. i eat there almost every day.

I just have to say Maffei's pizza is the best tasting pizza in NYC . I had the grandma's slice which was sooooo fresh and the sauce was incredible. Thank goodness for Italian people who know how to cook.

We had the chicken and broccoli slice, and Grandma's Pizza. Both were great. Halfway through the chicken slice, I asked for sauce on the side, which was chunky, rich, spicy, incredible. It elevated the slice to something really special. Grandma's doesn't need a thing. Incredibly fresh with a crust like no other. Go if you want great food, not great ambience (take out is a good option).

The Grandma's pie here is perfection, not once has it ever missed. In fact I am waiting for it to show up now and can't wait!
