We read all the reviews looking for a first time Korean BBQ place that would not treat us badly for being totally clueless. We picked this one and were not disappointed. The service was fantastic. Everyone was attentive, patient, and very willing to explain (sometimes again and again for the brain-dead). The food was wonderful. We had the Yang-Nyum Galbi- short rib and the Dweji-Bul-Go-Gi- pork. I'm sure there may be other places some more experienced diners may like better, but we were stuffed and completely satisfied. Fun and an excellent experience.

After reading the reviews, I decided to take my family out here this afternoon for lunch. Contrary to the others who have reviewed this restaurant, I did not order any meat but purchased "budaejungol" and "bibimmyun." The bibimmyun was tasty, but the budaejungol tasted very greasy and was not spicy at all! In addition, the banchan varieties were lacking and tasted bland. The service was also sub-par, and we had to make several requests to get a refill of water or banchan. Overall, I was not impressed by this restaurant and will not be frequenting here again in the future.

Last week a friend brought me here. It was my first visit to Madangsui, and I was very impressed! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We order both BBQ pork and the ala carte beef - they were perfectly done, very delicious!!! The portion was huge - well worth the money. The quality was top notch. I cannot wait to go back again.

I heard some good things about the place so I took a chance and brought my colleagues here for dinner. I am so glad we went because their BBQ was outstanding! plus all of their side dishes including egg stew and dan jang gee gae, so yummy! They will also cook for you unlike some other places. BBQ portions are very satisfying and it's worth the price. All my colleagues who are non Koreans were so pleased, they've been back many times since the first visit. I can't wait to go back and try more BBQs.

This place is a welcome addition to the K-town scene although it's a little off the main drag on 35th Street (near other places like ChoDangGol and HanBat). The decor is modern, and the place was jam packed with mainly Koreans when I went on a recent Friday. Unlike some places in K-town, the service here is above average, with pleasant knowledgeable servers who are willing to give helpful suggestions to non-Koreans as well. The BBQ is above average here with fresher than usual meat, and the bulgogi was one of the best version I've had, very tender. The joomulluck kalbi was just ok but not bad. They still use gas grills (although apparently charcoal ones are in the works) which may have affected the kalbi flavor somewhat. The array of banchan is diverse and fresh and they even include bowls of dwenjang jigae. They also have a good drink menu. The prices are a little high but comparable to other K-town joints, and the space is a little cramped and smoky. Overall though, I highly recommend this place for an authentic K-town BBQ experience and above average service.

Little bit on the expensive side but I enjoyed the food. Didn't have their barbeque but soybean soup and side dishes were great. Very spacious. Would go back and try their meat!
