So Italian, memorable
It is one of the most beautiful restaurant I have seen, so different, so Italian. The attention to details is amazing. The prices are more than reasonable and the food is typical Italian just like you would find in a trattoria in Italy. I felt at home. Just fantastic to be in such a decor without spending a fortune as one would expect in NYC. I have been there a few times now and I was never disappointed. I found the waiters to be very friendly and welcoming.

Nothing Exceptional
The decor is a bit cheesy, reminds me of a banquet themed room on a cruise ship. The furniture is like knights of the roundtable and clunky. It is nice there are no TVs or thumping music, rather it is classical type live music. The pizza was not bad, could be cooked more and a little less doughy and watery. I solid pizza but not the best for individual pizzas that I had. The prices are a tad steep but not terrible. The wine selection could be deeper and more affordable choices. The lighting should be a bit dimmer. This place needs a bit of warmth. Service is nice but not personable. If neighboring Italian is too busy to get into this isn't a bad choice and they don't rush you nor can you never find a seat.

Looks can be deceiving
Great looking place; very comfortable. Pizza appetizer was tasty. The Mahi main course was overcooked and served with an unappetizing seafood sauce. Very disappointed.

Good!
We sat at the bar last night and had a great time! The food was very good and the bartender was alot of fun. Amazing atmosephere. We will definitely go back!

Bravo
After several wonderful experiences here, both at lunch and dinner, we found both the food and service to be excellent, and the atmosphere to be pretty unique. Live classical music from students at the nearby Mannes School of Music was a real treat. Every detail, from the food to the chair you sit in, has been carefully and lovingly designed for pleasure. Prices are on the high side for this neighborhood, but worth it. Of the (seemingly) 7 million Italian joints in the area, this is our first choice by far.

Unfortunate experience
We waited over an hour for just our appetizers! It took forever to get a waiter's attention for a second glass of wine. When I finally did, and the bartender poured, it sat on the bar for another 10 minutes before she brought it over to me. And the restaurant was only 1/3 full! Great atmosphere though. Food is just mediocre.

Italian Renaissance on UWS
One returns to the Florentine renassiance upon entry into this superbly decorated new restaurant. The atmosphere transforms you from the 21st century UWS to an italian palzzo. The pastas are all homemade. The food was excellent. The service was incredibly attentive. Best of all was the wonderful live piano performance. Unobtrusive but adds to make a regular meal in the neighborhood into a real escape from reality. I wish the owners much success with their new restaurant.
