    A jewel!

I ate dinner here with 2 other people last night and our meals were outstanding! We have all traveled throughout Northern Italy and we haven't had a true Italian meal made with such care, since our travels. The prime dry-aged porterhouse for two is amazing. The pastas and sauces were so fresh were delicious. Everything had the taste of fresh from the farm or the butcher. I don't care that my pants are a little tight today! Worth it!

    Please take it serious!

Do you guys care about the service? Why is it always so bad? This is my third time back and I was disappointed again! Unfortunately it's going to be my last time back. It felt like the waiters didn't care! Where is the owner or manager when things are going bad? The restaurant has a lot of potential but it's not run very well.

    A very poor service

The porterhouse steak was good, but the wait was absurd, and our server was rude, inattentive and slow. None of the other staff members spoke proficient English, and our glasses were always empty. We were seated and it became difficult to order more wine or to have more water, almost like they were doing us a favor. We were a group of four and all extremely disappointed. Not up to NYC standards, the first and the last time.

    Love this place!

My husband and I eat in Macelleria a few times each month. We feel very much at home there and find the service to be very good. We love the ambiance and the food and we always leave with a good feeling. We have taken many friends and business associates there and have never been disappointed. The wait staff is always lovely to us. Macellaria is one of our favorite restaurants in town.

Best place to waste a meal

If you are in the market for a nice looking, terrible tasting, time wasting, comedy of culinary errors, go to Macelleria. You will wait 45 minutes to have your order taken, then 30 minutes for your drink. When your food arrives, 1 hours later, it will not be what you ordered, and it will be cold. The ambiance is one of a populist revolution waiting to explode - as your fellow starving dining patrons jockey for complaint pole position. A great place to tell your special somebody that you think they are a complete imbecile.

Loved it, loved it, loved it.

I was in town for business and this became my go to resturant the whole week. I still dream of the rib eye. the sopressata on the antipasti plate was sweet and divine. Atmosphere was fun and relaxing. I was able to bring clients and have a well appointed evening, and I was also able to show up after a photo shoot, exhausted and in jeans and just have a great meal. I was suprised by the bad reviews here, but remember-disgruntled people are more motivated to post reviews than deliriously happy ones.

    Italian steakhouse?

Had dinner with a friend thinking it was an italian steakhouse. Very loud place and waiters with phony italian accent . Meat was tough and far from being dry aged beef. Tried to charge us an extra bottle of wine, tried to over charge for tip.
