I would go crazy if I worked there.
The coffee is fantastic and the food is very good and I think the people who work there are great, but its so overcrowded that there is no way to relax and enjoy the coffee, so I stopped going there.

Great Coffee!!
The sad thing is this place is only open on weekdays - otherwise i'd be able to enjoy an excellent brew on weekends too! Coffee any style is great - although i prefer sipping hot coffee. Croissants are good. Veggies are very fresh so you get excellent value in the salads (especially when the portions are generous). The place is highly popular, so be early (before 11.45am) or have a pleasant afternoon coffee around 3pm.

The best Coffee/Tea ever!
I work one street away from this place and I made this my favorite joint of the day. The lattes, chai and brownie were exceptional. The staff is very friendly and the whole ambiance is very upscale and cozy. The prices are reasonable. I havent tried their sandwiches yet but I am sure they are delicious. Top Notch!!

greek salad = ambrosia
Only in midtown can my favorite coffee come from a deli and my favorite salad from a coffee house. I've never been particularly blown away by the espresso drinks here - - maybe they lack the secret ingredient (read: crack) of a certain coffee giant and I just don't hear the same siren song leading me here when I want a latte. And as for your ordinary cuppa joe... the $0.99 cup from the downstairs deli does me just fine. But all things considered... the food at Macchiato is outrageously good. The menu is edgy and inventive but completely appealing. Everything is flavored and crafted superbly. The Greek salad - - with its expensive feta, gourmet olives and AMAZING lemon mint dressing (seriously! bottle this stuff!) is far and away the best I've ever had. I crave it constantly and eat it weekly. I'm seriously addicted. (Now *there's* a siren song I'm hearing loud and clear.)

fantastic espresso
only had an espresso and it was fantastic. smooth, delicate, flavorful, appropriately sized. completely destroys starbucks' syrupy over-roasted crap. and neatly surpasses 9th st. espresso and the similar shops.

Great for Morning & Lunch
The coffee is very good with lots of selections and also iced tea selections as well. The salads and sandwiches are all very creative and tasty.

Great Find!
Macchiato Espresso Bar is one in a million. The customers are primarily business casual, entertaining and friendly as is the service behind the counter. The espresso made the best tasting latte. Thinking about it now makes me swoon. I certainly wasn't alone. A customer announced before she left that that latte was "The best she had ever had." The food is fresh (I would recommend the caprese sandwich, but really, everything is amazing. If you are in the mood for something warm, ask for their oatmeal) and decadent. The pastries are made on location. You'd have to go to Paris for a better croissant. Bonus points for the chic presentation. Everything is priced surprisingly low for the district and quality. And if anything else, you won't want to leave simply because the cafe looks so cool. I had half a mind to take out my camera and take pictures.
