great add to the hood
so I finely made it in to macao, The spot is beautiful, atmosphere is great, (a bit loud but I guess that comes with the territory when your busy like they were...) our cute israeli server was informative and helped us in ordering the right amount of food and proper cocktail to match. Drinks were expensive but well worth it as you can tell much thought and effort was put in concocting them. The food was good too and arrived at the table in a manner that was unobtrusive to our conversation, so we could focus on each other. All and all very positive experience, nice to have a place like that in Tribeca. great for hanging out with friends Keep it up!

Fun and Delicious!
Went with two friends the other night. It's a little difficult to find as there are no signs but it's directly under the red light on Church Street. Very busy bar, cool architecture and ambiance, and the food was perfect! We had the mushrooms, both Portuguese and Chinese style, and the Chinese style crispy shrimp to start, and the hake, Chinese style sea bass and Portuguese style sirloin with bleu cheese butter as entrees. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were interesting and tasty (although small and pricey). Would definitely go back again!

Decent food, good atmosphere, waiters...
In short, decent and interesting food (the Macao theme is a change of pace and the menu works well) and the atmosphere is great. The wait staff, however, were rushed and rather indifferent. This isn't helped by the very small tables, which are odd for a restaurant that serves its meals "family-style" and quickly become completely covered. Very hip bar, and I'll probably be back, but the service needs work. If you go, look for the red lamp.

Excellent New Spot
Well it was nice to be able to take my lovely lady to Macao in the first week they were open. There didn't appear to be many kinks in service considering it was the first night they were open to the public. Anyways, down to the food and drink: The drunken dragon's milk is outrageously delicious as is the Kaffir Jimlet. Do yourself a favor and order the clams portuguese style as well as the excellent chinese shrimp wrapped in crispy goodness. For the entree, an incredibly valued sirloin steak and some chinese style ribs with a pretty banging dish of green beans. The atmosphere was chic and the crowd was plentiful. I will definitely be back as the boys from Employees Only have done it again.
