    Fantastic cocktails and food!!!

We went to Ma Peche last night for a quick dinner. The vibe was great, cocktails were inventive and delicious (perhaps a little too delicious) and the food even better. I recommend sitting at the bar as the bartenders are gracious and knowledgeable. We started with an awesome tower of raw oysters, crab, and shrimp. Next up was the fried cauliflower and baby back ribs, both were devoured within minutes. The steak frites dish was the star of the show, a real value and the rice fries were unique and delicious. We will surely be back next time we're in the city!

Ma Peche is a great addition to Midtown

I was having a particularly lousy day at work, so I took myself to Ma Peche for lunch (two blocks away from my office--this is going to be very bad for my diet). I arrived at 12:30, and the nice maitre d' said while there would be a wait for table seating, I could have a seat at the raw bar immediately. Decided since I sit on bar stools at Ko all the time, no problem sitting at the bar for lunch today. Happy to report very padded bar seats. Small bar area (4 seats). Very attentive service. I couldn't decide what to order (everything sounds great). I decided on the Asparagus salad with crab and egg yolk (and the tiny potato chips that are served with the egg and onion subise at the dinner at Ko). Everything worked wonderfully! Flavors were great, and the textures were great. Very generous portion too! Glad I didn't also order the fluke and pineapple (next time). I also ordered the pork ribs with lemongrass and caramel--delicious! The meat was very flavorful and tender. The meat fell off the bones. I was "gifted" with an order of the chicken and morels pate with pickled ramps. This was excellent too and a very generous portion. Needless to say I was very full at the end of lunch. Also received an oyster as another gift--very fresh and tasty. Made my way back to the office, and had a chocolate chip/marshmallow/cornflake cookie for dessert that I had bought from Milk Bar yesterday--really addictive! Bottom line: Ma Peche is a great addition to the midtown restaurant scene. You know I'll be back to try the rest of the menu.

    Bad Servie in Chambers bar

The service inside of Ma Peche is not bad, but the service at Milk Bar and Chambers Bar are the most disappointing experience that I have never had. Have been there many times and loved in the past but the experience happened to us we will never go back there again. I would to say this to the Owner " David Chang" better catch up with the service there before the whole place falling apart because of them.

I am a frequent diner at and fan of Momofuku Noodle Bar and thus was interested to try Ma Peche - though I admit I was a bit wary about it being in a hotel. They only have a lunch and mezzanine menu at this time, but we were really disappointed with the three dishes we tried: Bun du Riz (rice noodles with pork ragout), Goi Calamare (squid salad), and the Chambers burger. The Bun du Riz was a bit bland and very greasy - my stomach hurt after. The squid salad had a bite in terms of spice but was lacking in flavor and acidity. The Chambers burger was ok, but nothing spectacular. The fries seemed like ones you would find in a diner. Overall, the dinner was not flavorful, quite greasy, and left us feeling a bit sick. I was disappointed and feel that Chang has sold out a bit - diving into the hotel/trendy restaurant combo but along the way losing the flavor and innovation that made his first restaurants so popular.

    Chang"ed" OD

Why why why do I keep doing this to myself. Everytime DC opens a new spot or creates something new..I jump! And after each meal/dessert/fried chicken...I hate myself for being addicted to the Chand craze. Ma Peche in one word - disappointment. I told my BF that I will not do this to myself in the future. DC has been blacklisted in my book. Can someone please explain the addiction!!
