    enough of anonymous reviews

For what the restaurant is by far I find its food, value, service,n ambience above average. As for all this anonymous reviewers please have the guts to atleast sign your name if you are so displeased by this restaurant instead of just mouthing off its such a cowardly n dishonorable action you are not a food critic for the times to be so anonymous

    great lunch

My wife, son and I had lunch there on Tuesday and we were blown away on the quality of the food. Is it Per Se, no? But for interestin, unusual and delictible flovors it more than held its own. Summer rolls were so unusual and delicately flovered. The only way to improve a squid salad would be to not add peanuts (I easily ate around them). My Bhan Mi was the best non-Katz's sandwich ever. my son's braised flatiron steak makes you forget about short ribs. My wife got the broccoli as main. I am not a vegetarian, but I helped lick that bowl. The service was perfect Colleen (Kathleen?) knew everything and waited on us promptly and professionally.

    Disappointing

Good food, sub-par atmosphere, bad service. Once my meal was over, after waiting about 15 minutes for the waitress to bring back my boxed leftovers, I was informed by another member of the wait staff that there was a miscommunication and the rest of my entrée was thrown out, not boxed for me. Pretty annoying considering I intentionally saved half the portion. Instead of offering dessert, the waiter offered to either “throw another steak on the grill” or comp me a drink next time I came into the restaurant. Really?

    Delicious but overpriced

Food was very good, but apps for $16.? Porkchop for two, $65.! $15. drink was 3 sips. Plates cleared too quickly. Check came B4 it was asked for. Place was half empty so they didn't need the table. Service friendly but unprofessional. We wanted dessert and told we could have it at Milk Bar upstairs. Turns out, that's simply a take-out counter. No, we didn't want to eat dessert in the street! This is a great place if you're on an expense account and don't care about the cost. But don't expect to graciously linger over your meal. They proudly say they serve "Chinatown Style" meaning food comes when it's ready. So pay uptown prices and get downtown service.

    Odd Place

Had three small plate and was shocked at the price. Pork Belly and pseudo-asian isn't always tasty, and these dishes were just weird. Not nec. good or bad. It was kind of dead at dinner last week

    $10.00 Midtown Lunch

My work colleagues & I ordered lunch to go last week. Overall, our team agreed that, while the food was indeed tasty & unique to the area, it wasn't quite worth the $10.00 due to portion size. Our collective assessment is as follows: 1) bánh mì – delicious meat & sauce(one tough critic rated the bread as too hard & chewy). 2) chicken bánh mì – not distinctive. 3) rice noodles – well received, but one diner expressed confusion that the noodles were part-soft, part-crunchy. 4) squid salad – insanely tasty, but whew! surprisingly spicy (thank goodness for the cooling mint). I wish Má Pêche would lose the included beverage and throw in one of Milk Bar cookies instead. That would make one exceptional lunch!
