Disappointed
Had dinner with my friends past Saturday night. Total disappointment. Food did not taste good, portions are ridiculously small, for dessert had cheese platter and ate all the bread (good-bye my low carb diet...) Service was okey, but I am definitely not coming back!

what happened?
The pre fixe at Ma Peche was sensational. It is now gone. Instead, small plates/large plates. The noodles and summer rolls were so good, why did you take them away? Went back for a business meeting for 3 and the bill was about 30% higher than in past due to new menu. Will probably not return. Not because of the cost, but the food is no longer Momofuku worthy. Too bad. They even took away the brownie at the end of the pre fixe lunch. We had to buy cookies this time! Please go back to the pre fixe.

Best raw bar in the city
Seriously best oysters in the city after repeated visits i am still blown away by the freshness and qualities of the oysters here. Love the non-veggie veggie dishes and a few of the less hardcore items of the mains. Great drinks. Eat at the bar here and avoid the staid room below.

Great for midtown
I've been to Ma Peche about 5x with small and large groups. The wait staff is always nice, but not always efficient. They need more staff in the dining room at lunchtime. This is a management issue and not the fault of those on the floor. The food is tasty and the prix fixe is a great value. I must say the staff is always friendly and pleasant. I continue to return and have suggested Ma Peche to others.

Bad Service, Unapproachable Food
The best part about our dining experience was the vegetable plate, which was $18. Other than that the Duck and Lamb was not that flavorful. The portions are very small and pricey. Our service was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Two different people took our orders and never returned to the table. The waiter and waitress never asked how was the food or if we need anything additional. We had to call a bus boy to get the check for us. I would not recommend eating here at all. You would do better at a Food Truck on the corner of 53rd and 5th Ave.

Amazed by prior reviews
My husband turned 45, I got tix to a show, and asked my NYC friend to recommend a pre-show restaurant. This was the one. She's a foodie, so I didn't question and booked the reservation (first sitting Saturday night). Just for fun, I went online to see reviews. I was shocked to see that almost every review (here) was scathing. Considered canceling. But... decided I wanted to see for myself. I am so glad I did! We had excellent service from start to finish. We were seated at a long table that would potentially hold many others, so if this possibility bothers you, say so when you reserve. We didn't care (and no one was seated at our table until the end of our meal). We ordered wine (which was wonderful) and small plates - Summer rolls and Crispy Pigs Head. Holy Moses, the CPH was particularly incredible. We followed it up with large plates - Halibut Pot Pie (Delicious), and Monkfish (equally scrumptious). What I might have loved most of all was the brussels sprouts. Wow. As my friend suggested, we got ourselves a cookie on our way out to eat at intermission. We had a very memorable and outstandingly delicious dinner - made for a great birthday. (:}) Go taste for yourself.

Overrated
The Beef 7 Ways is one of the most disappointing, overrated, overhyped meals I've ever had. Didn't appreciate eating in a basement for the $$ either. And the wait staff was, in a word, lazy. That said, some of the dishes being served around us seemed and smelled interesting which left us feeling even more disappointed in the Beef. I would give Ma Peche another chance but sure to have someone else pick up the tab. Ma Peche certainly has not earned another dip into my wallet.
