You get what you expect
It doesn't knock your grandmas food out the park, hell even your own if you weren't so "busy"/lazy. But the prices are decent, and I must note their pancakes are delish. Service wise...it's a soul food restaurant in the hood...so yes sometimes they won't have mac n cheese, gravy, chicken or whatever said staple item, and yes you'll wonder "well did they not expect that people would want to eat today?" But it's Ma n Pops, so you once you know what you're getting, you get what you expect.

Poor service/food
I went into mom n' pops for the 1st and last time today. I ordered the "Jumbo" burger. There was nothing Jumbo about it. I asked what comes on the burger and that is not what I got. I got a flat soggy w/mayo bun, a dry thin patty, old lettuce and a tomato. The burger looked like someone had made it and kicked it across the room before throwing it in the bag. If they can't make a decent Burger. I wouldn't dare order anything else. I called and asked for my money back, they put me on hold and never came back to the phone. I had to walk back around the corner, and when they seen me they gave me all but .50cents back, saying it was a service fee. They charged me a .50cent service fee, for poor service and poor food. What a waste of time, sometimes its better to just stick to what you know.

Addicted to soul food
Ma N Pop is definately a hole in the wall but the southern down-home cooking is the best I've tasted outside my grandmother's kitchen. If I didn't live in the neighborhood, I'm pretty sure I'd drive across town for take out; on a regular basis.
