Happy Guys!
This place is genius! This pizza is the best Napolitano pizza I have had outside Italy. Va Bene! Meraviglioso!

A free trip to Italy!
I can't tell you how lucky I feel to have found Luzzos. I lived in Italy for 6 months and everytime I walk into Luzzos I feel like I am back there. The staff is warm and the majority of the patrons speak Italian. The only downfall is that food is soo good it is hard to stop eating!!!

For those who didn't like the pizza....
I've been to Luzzos a few times and after spending a month in Italy (Naples) I can confirm that this pizza is the closest you will come to "true" Napoli style pizza (closer than Grimaldi's, Lombardi's, John's, Patsy's, etc.). This is the real deal, although I suspect that the reason some of you weren't fully impressed was because you are more familiar with the NY version of "pizza". This is SUPERB pizza with the true buffalo mozzerella (brought in from Italy) with fresh sauce and crust like it should be, baked in a combo coal/wood oven.

better than a microwave?
I went to Luzzo's last night for the first time, with high expectations for a crispy coal oven pizza. The sauce was runny, the crust was limp (it had the texture of something that had been heated in a microwave), and the pizza was served lukewarm. There was a miserly topping of anchovies. The wooden booth seats have no recline and hence no comfort. I've had better frozen pizza from Trader Joes. On the plus side, I thought the mozzarello de buffalo was fine, though my friend said it was tasteless.

Has gone downhill
I've ordered from Luzzo's and dined in several times over the last 2 years and food was great. But, the prices recently went up again and the food quality is not as good as it used to be. I just spent $24 on what used to be my favorite pie (and was under $20 a month ago) and it was only OK. Also, ordered a Ceasar salad that was unbelievely small, had no parmesan and not very fresh lettuce. If you've been here before, don't expect it to be as good as you're used to.

Highly Recommended By Friends & Worth it
Just went here last night with a friend who was in from out of town. Luzzo's was recommended to me by another friend. Both have spent extensive time in Italy, including Naples, and said the pizza (we ordered the truffle pizza) was right on. It was delicous, with a light, but crisp crust. We enjoyed was the way it doesn't sit heavily in the stomach. The tomato sauce was lovely as well--again, not too heavy nor acidic. Caesar salad was a bit skimpy and boring (just Romaine, croutons, and dressing) for the $5 price tag. Tiramisu was an airy and satisfying finish to the meal. Excellent macchiato. Cozy atmosphere and fast, friendly service that was laid back and not at all intrusive.
