Each week I count the days, hours, minutes until I return to Luzzo's for truffle oil pizza - mmmm delish!

Luzzo's is the best pizza in the East Village, if not all of Manhattan. Every time I go there it is amazing. The hot oil is a great extra topping if you like things hot. One trip to Luzzo's, there was something sticky on my girlfriends' seat... After she sat in it, the staff thoroughly cleaned her seat and then didn't charge us for any of the wine we drank (6 glasses). Very friendly staff. Overall, Luzzo's is highly reccomended.

Okay, decided to go here after seeing Martha Stewart's big review. We got there at 11:00am. The doors were open, we walked in....not a soul in the place. We waited, called out, some man comes up, and says "what do you want?" We ask if we can be seated - He doesn't understand anything we are saying. We ask what time do you open? He keeps saying "what you want?". We ask, can we eat, or what? He finally says, come back at 12:00. At noon, we return, and are seated, he walks up to our table, with his order pad, and just stands there. Not a single word out of his mouth. No, can I take your order? It was all rather bizarre. Other than the odd service, the pizza is to DIE FOR. Don't waste time with the pasta. We ordered gnocchi, just to try, and the sauce was kind of yucky, almost like tomato puree out of a can, and warmed up.

The food is delicious, but trying to place an order over the phone is like trying to have a sincere conversation with a friend during a Gwar concert. By the end of the call you'll be deaf, you'll have no voice, and you'll be covered in blood. For some reason they have decided that they will no longer take credit cards on phone orders. I'm always amazed with business decisions such as this.

A friend and I went there just last week and it was my first time. We ordered the calamari which was not as good as in other places I've tried, but satisfactory. We ordered the pizza Campana and thought it was great. Love the buffalo cheese, love the sauce. The crust was great. It didn't take that long for it to be prepared, either. The space is small and cozy in its size and decor although the layout is strange to me. The room is a long but narrow rectangle. When you first walk in, there are tables right there, which I think is awkward for the people who have to sit there, especially during the cold weather we've had here. The service isn't too bad. It took us a while to decide what to get and I felt a little pestered by their persistence, and once we ordered, they didn't really come back unless it was to give us food or fill our water glasses. All in all, I would suggest the place and would consider going back.

This was a GREAT pie... by far the best I've ever tasted in the City. The tomato sauce was sweet, making every bite delicious, and the crust was light, soft, and tasty. My girlfriend and I ordered a small classic and they gave us a large.. for the price of a small. We ended up finishing the entire pizza. It's a DELICIOUS pie... great service.. I can't say enough good things about this place.
