    Better and Better!

Since my last review, the family has gone to Luzzo's multiple times. We have now sampled different pizzas, salads and pastas. Simply put, the place is great. The one thing that comes out of a Luzzo's experience is the quality of the ingredients. Whether it is a Ceasar salad with just the hint of anchovies in the backround and the crunch of fresh croutons; the crispiness of the fried calamari, the creaminess of the fresh buffala mozzarella and cherry tomato salad, the appitizers are uniformly wonderful. The pastas are surprisingly great. and truly remind me of being in Italy. So far we have had the tagliatelle bolognese, spagetti carbonara and the lasagna - each better than most top tier Italian restaurants in the City. While the portion size is not large, it is right. Two can clearly share one appetizer, one pasta and a small pizza. The pizza remains the star. We have had the Margarita, the Margarita with sausage and the 4 Cheese - each memorable. The service remains friendly and efficient. Noise level high when full. Crowd - mostly 20's and local. Go for it - you'll be very happy. Amities Gourmandes, ally's dad

    Really Great!

Now that the Neopolitan pizza craze has hit NYC, this is a place not to miss. Went last night with Ally after a killer volleyball game (She won!) around the corner. Truly great pizza. Sauce, cheese, crust first rate. Unlike some other reviewers, I find the staff very friendly, informed about what they are serving, and really trying to be there to serve you. While the prices are high for pizza, the product is first rate. The pasta and salads look great and I will report on them after our next visit. Amities Gourmandes, Ally's Dad

    Amazing pizza, terrible service

The pizza is so delicious, especially the crust (although the pizza has very small blobs of cheese, but it's still so good that it doesn't really matter). I had high hopes for this place, but the wait staff is strange, unattentive, and made me feel like I was putting them out by simply being there. 4 of us sat down and ordered 4 drinks, and the spacey waitress only brought 2 drinks and disappeared. We gave her about 5 minutes figuring maybe they had to restock the bar, and then when we asked where the other 2 drinks were, she said "sure" as if we had only just asked for it. That's just one of many examples of why this place was a little frustrating. All that annoying stuff aside, I would go back because the pizza is that good.

    Delivery review

It seems Luzzos has a different menu in the restaurant compared to their website. So when you ask for a pizza over the phone (based on what you see online) they'll send you something else. I understand this is a minor mistake but I'm not going to return mi pizza and wait for the "correction" when I'm starving. Sorry guys..good pizza but lacking customer service!!

    Great pizza, bungled order

Saw this place praised on Jeff Varasano's pizza website, so we gave it a shot, ordering a Quattro Stagioni (spelling?) pizza. The bad news was that the delivery person was lost for 20 minutes, and the pizza they sent us was not the one we ordered. The good news was that it was delicious, one of the best pizzas i've had, and that was even when it was covered with toppings i normally don't enjoy. I'll probably order again, but only when i have plenty of time to wait and i'm feeling adventurous about what i'm going to get :)

Closest You Can Get to Naples

After trying ever top rated pizza place in the city i can say this is the best pizza you can get here. Try their bufala margarita pizza it is the closest you can get to Naples (ask for extra basil on it). Don't listen to others who slam this place, its just not their style of pizza as they want thick cheese and over spiced sause. This is neapolitan pizza at its best and you won't be dissappointed!

    service is really getting poor

must agree with the previous reviews. pizzas are great but service is sub par at best. if you happen to know the owner, that's great, you'll get a table within 10 min even if the place is crowed (and he seems to know half of the city), o/w you're up for a long wait, bad service, etc. really annoying. a couple of year ago this place was very welcoming. too bad.
