tastless and very poor ingredients
Having enjoyed wonderful Portuguese food, both in Portugal and other areas of Europe, was excited to try this local restaurant. After ordering the peri peri chicken and a couple of apps, was looking forward to dinner. After receiving the food over an hour after ordering, had to pretty much leave all of it. Chicken was all knuckles and sinew (all 3 peices) and swimming in tasteless tomato oil. It was served with ready whip mash and boiled veg. Needless to say, will never order from here and now need to go get something to eat!!

Sort of OK, but not Portuguese
Used to be a place where seasoned west-side Portugal connoiseurs went to Portugal without leaving Manhattan. Ever since Luzia and Murray went AWOL I do not consider Luzia'a a Portuguese restaurant and I ought to know. Since then I sat there a number of times for old times sake, but old times aren't coming back.

I will be back
My husband & I were celebrating our anniversary and a friend recommend this place to us. We where very happy. We start with Sangria (was the best ever) and follow by 6 tapas dishes, everyting was excellent, and we will recommend this place to all our friends.

Very disappointing
I had the Portuguese fish stew and it basically tasted like tomato sauce dumped over an overcooked slab of white fish along with one clam and some potatoes. It was over $20. The salad to start was pretty fresh and the portion was large, but overall the experience was extremely disappointing.

My Experience
We recently ordered Pulpo a la Gallega and it was tasty however, it consisted mostly of potatoes. The grilled sardines were not impressive or tasty. We were very disappointed by the price of "churros con chocolate", this snack/dessert certainly should not cost $10!.....too expensive!

Good place to eat if you have all night
I went to this place for a dinner on Friday. The place is quiet and cute. The food was very good, however the server seemed to forget about us. We asked for water and a pitcher of Sangria. Although premixed it took about 20 min to bring the Sangria, but we never got water. My boyfriend had to go up to the bar to ask for water. The bus boy cleared our plates and brought us our left-overs in to-go containers. We sat and waited for nearly a half hour for the check. We finally waved down the bus boy to get it for us.This place is great if you have alot of time on your hands and want to sit and chat with good friends.

Quite dissapointing.
I get the impression that the cook doesn't really know much about Portuguese food, the dishes were not made authentically and were unimpressive. I would not return to eat here.
