The food is just great from the apps. to the main courses. And the prices are just right. If you compare the prices with Manhattan and the portions they serve. I had a great time and i can't wait to come back with my friends.

Luz absolutely kicks butt. Great food and cocktails in a fun atmosphere (except weekends when they bust out the 80's music videos). Some people have complained about the portions/prices and yes, some of the seafood items seem a little skimpy. But the pork, chicken, and meat dishes are all right on point and generously portioned. The whole Roast chicken is a total sleeper on the menu and will feed 2 people for $10. OK $20 with sides but still. Oh, and the Lechon Asado is positively drool-inducing.

Every time I think about lovely Luz I get a smile on my face. I find myself fantasizing about habanero ribs, collard greens, and the tomatillo-cilantro-lime (Jaibe) ceviche quite often. For chilly fall days you can't go wrong with the very filling Chupe soup. If you're put off by the $18+ entrees, the $5 half-chicken is a great deal. the drinks are on the pricey side, though I guess that's normal for Brooklyn. I can't wait to try it out for brunch!

This is such a great spot. ALWAYS consistent, super friendly. I dont think its over priced and the portions are always plenty. The sangria is dangerously delicious. A true winner.

Food is great, service is good, good sangria and mojitos!!! it's too expensive for the portions though. Except the rotisserie chicken is a great deal! as well as the sides!

This place is a must try...went on a wednesday night and it was rather busy, but got a table, though at the door and it was a little cold...waiter seemed new as he had to check in the back on a lot of stuff, but attentive nonetheless...cava sangria is a must! For apps we ordered the empanadas - have had better, and the pinchos de res (cubes of beef with yuca_ - delicious..and accompanying sauce even better!..for entree the bass is fantastic,,also ordered the pork - very different tasting with a sour orange flavoring but enjoyable...a lot of other things on the menu i wanted to try and that looked fab - the apps seem a bit more appealing than the entrees.

I don't think this is place is overrated at all! The innovative menu, gorgeous presentation, and high quality of the food has never faltered throughout my repeated visits. This is not the place to go if you are looking for massive portions at rock bottom prices. It's definitely more a date spot. The Arepa de Queso appetizer is pricey, but sublime. I often go there to fulfill a craving I get for the Chino Latino, a sashimi-like tuna dish with a perfect balance of flavors- ginger soy sauce, fresh jalepeno, grilled pineapple, red onion... it's SO good! My boyfriend adores the half chicken with rice and beans- it's definitely the best bargain on the menu and it's fabulous. The Pisco Sour is great unique drink, and quite strong too. My only complaint would be that a few of the menu descriptions seem to be inaccurate, but I've yet to be disappointed by anything I've eaten there.
