Wonderful Food and Decor
Great restaurant. First of all, the space is large and roomy and has a great nautical decor, which is appropriate for their great seafood choices. I found the waitstaff to be cheerful, attentive and unpretentious (except for the Bartender who sort of had that "Soho arrogance"). We were 6 people and everything ordered was delicious....from the incredible appetizers (salmon tartare, crab cakes, etc.) through the entrees and desserts. We kept tasting everyone's choice and all you heard were "oohs and aahs". I found it well worth the money. Great dining experience.

A wonderful find in SoHo
I just got back from having lunch here and couldn't wait to share my wonderful experience! First of all, the restaurant (I had never been there before) is a bit hidden as it is below the Prada store in Soho. But what a wonderful surprise awaits when you walk down those stairs and into the restaurant! It is decorated in an old-school classic sort of way and is a very good size. We shared the shrimp tempura, calamari and house sushi roll as appetizers and while all three were delicious, the shrimp tempura was the table's favorite! It is a generous portion of tempura fried shrimp with the most decadent mayonaise based sauce with just enough zing and spice. The service was friendly, attentive and helpful but never overwhelming. We took our waitresses's suggestion and had the branzino. It is a very delicate fish and the sauce of ponzu, scallion and what may be just a hint of jalapeno and garlic never overwhelmed it. As we were a large group, we ordered a second bottle of wine. When they discovered the bottle of wine we had ordered before was the last of its kind they offered to upgrade us to another vintage at the price of our previous wine. After our meal, we all decided to order coffee and pass on the tempting dessert selection. A few minutes later, the restaurant manager himself brought us over a plate of complimentary home-made ice cream sandwiches. The sandwiches are made of assorted cookie flavors with various ice creams in between. What a perfect way to end an amazing meal! Needless to say, I will be back!

What a Catch
Had a fabulous meal here. Started with sushi/roll combo-an easily shared appetizer-though I didn't have to on this night. The pricing on the combo easily takes $10 off ordering it separately. Moved on to the grilled wahoo which was outstanding in a ginger soy sauce. My wife had the tempura shrimp which was the best thing that either of us ordered. There were at least 20 shrimp in the dish. Which meant that I got to partake. She finished up with another appetizer--the soft shell crab. We found a great St. Aubin white burgundy to accompany our meal. The decor is fun--very nautical as you might expect and the subterranean location (under the new Prada store across Mercer from the Mercer Hotel) affords views of legs walking by. Owned by the same folks who run Lever House, this Soho newcomer is a winner.

Lure is great
I had a great meal at this restaurant. Most of the food was excellent. The service was friendly but not intrusive. They were extremely helpful when it came to wine choice. The seared tuna was amazing, the shrimp and avocado salad was very tasty and the tuna sashimi was fabulous. The chocolate cake for dessert while edible would not get my vote. The decor is a little cheesy and the prices while not astronomical were high given the small portion size. All in all, I would go back - you would not have to ask me twice.

The seared tuna is to die for. Beautiful design and fun, nice service. The oysters were wonderful.

Wonderful Summer Lunch
I just got back to the work following the best summer lunch I have been to so far. For those of you that don't know, law students that work at big law firms for the summer get treated to outrageously expensive and often pretentious lunches all summer long. Lure, by far, has been my best experience. Regardless of what other reviewers have said, the service was PERFECT. Our waiter was friendly but not too friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was delicious. I recommend the clam chowder and the lobster roll. The atmosphere was lovely, the music was some of the best played in restaurants around town and it was at the appropriate "background music" level. I agree with another reviewer that the dessert wasn't fantastic, but my lunch date was thrilled to see the butterscotch parfait on the menu- it was something unexpected and refreshing. This will be the place that I will revisit once the summer is over, the whole experience was fantastic.

Perfect Summer Treat!
On such a hot summer day of walking aruond Soho, Lure was our safe haven from the heat & humidity. The ambiance was beautifully decorated like a luxury liner. We were surprised to read that the service was rated low because we were served by such pleasant & helpful staff. We ordered the Fishbar sampler that was a scrumptuous mix of raw fish in various Japanese-inspired, yet distinctly western-style sauces. The salmon & seared-tuna were just as delicious & it was somewhat embaressing how we were soaking our bread in their sauces afterwards. Dessert was somewhat of a disappointment though. Not as decorative as the meal. Regardless, we'll visit again soon. It was a fabulous experience we'll want to be "lured" into again.
