Lunetta is far and way our favorite place in the neighborhood and we have had many delicious and wonderful meals there. I only wish they would bring back the black squid pasta to the menu but there are other great choices on the menu as well. Give it a try -- you will thank me.

Surprized to read negative reviews. Been a regular customer since they opened and going there is always a treat. We always receive excellent service! I do recommend sitting at the food bar, and watch the food being prepared. For a foodie it is amazing experience. Lunetta is a modern italian (not a red sauce joint) that specializes in small plates. Do keep this in mind as you won't get the same food you would in more american italian place. They make many of their ingredients from scratch (spicy mayo, ricotta, mozarella). Truly a local and a locavore dream.

That pretty much sums it up for me. I have been there three times, and each time the food was very good and some things quite wonderful. Each time, the service has been poor, rude, even hostile. There are too many other restaurants in the neighborhood where the staff is pleasant.

The food was actually pretty good, but it is not nearly worth it. The waitress (saturday night) was rude, condescending and completely disinterested. The worst service I have had in NYC, bad enough to make not want to give it a second chance.

The food was excellent, but the service was pretty terrible overall. Our waitress grabbed up the salad plate just before I could finish the last delicious bite of beet, ricotta and pistachio. That said, the food was fantastic, especially the pork belly and the ricotta bruschetta. In the future, however, someone should tell the Saturday night waitress that she works at a cozy neighborhood restaurant... not Denny's.

We've eaten here many times and each time the food has been excellent. It's a homey atmosphere, friendly service and terrific food. I'd strongly urge you to give it a try despite some of the other reviews you won't be disappointed.

Food: Everyone enjoyed the flavor of their meals but the plates and portions were so tiny we hardly knew we ate. I literally had to stop for a slice of pizza on the way home so as not to go hungry. Im not a big person, nor a glutton and I understand portion control is good business but paying 17 bucks for a tiny plate of pasta doesnt work for me. Service: The hostess was also our waitress but we werent aware of this for the first ten minutes because no one addressed us. Finally a waitress appeared who for all intents and purposes looked like a customer(based on Lunetta's lack of a staff dress code) and took a drink order. Naturally we assumed she was our waitress....until....the hostess/waitress came over to take our drink order. Which, as I said, had already been taken. See why we were confused. Then the drinks landed and we waited about 15 minutes for the hostess (here we go again) to take our food order. Synopsis: If you eat like a bird and dont mind not knowing who your waitress is Lunetta is for you.
