Trying to decide on a restaurant in NYC is like trying to choose which of your children is your favorite. We (8 of us) pondered and plotted and searched and argued until we just decided to 'wing it'. Upon entering Luna at 7:30 on a Saturday night, we were suprised (and worried) to find a restaurant on Mulberry Street as empty as this. Only 1 table with guests. We were quickly convinced that we made a wise decision. The service was prompt from the very start. Appetizers came and there were many "OMG - this is fabulous" heard around the table. The main course was even better. I had one of the best Shrimp Fra diavlo dishes I've ever had. As we sat comfortably and waitied for our food, the restaurant began to fill up. The waitress was very friendly and quite informative about the history of the restaurant. We all walked out of there very, very pleased with our last minute decision. One of the people from our party requested an after dinner drink of Amaretto and after the waitress said they had none, she assured him she would get it for him. She did! I will most definitely be returning.
