I waited an hour for food . I called them and it hadn't even left the shop. they started giving me a lame excuse.... yada yada.... they've been open long enough this should not happen.

I found myself on the Westside and couldn't resist going back to Luke's. I had the soup of the day which turned out to be lobster bisque. Outstanding. Thick, creamy filled with generous pieces of lobster and saturated with the taste of lobster. Last time there, I had the clam chowder and it was truly a wonderful, satisfying meal in itself. But it was deliciously decadent with the lobster roll I also had!!

no they are not large but they are lobster rolls for under $20 and it's not likely you'll find better for the price in manhattan, certainly not on the upper west side. oh and don't forget about the chowders either -- very thick and rich! sometimes i wish there were a couple tables rather than just the bar stool seating, but on the other hand it keeps the turnover quick and fits more people.

I was on my way to a neighboring restaurant when I noticed this small hole-in-the-wall. I've heard of Luke's but this was my first opportunity to sample the fare and I was really excited. I was not disappointed. The lobster was plentiful on the old time center cut hot dog bun (remember Nedick's?). It's the size I remember from Cape Cod. The mayo and spice mix is interesting and I liked it although it's certainly not necessary. Just the lobster roll was $17 and change and that is what I paid for a pound of lobster meat on the Cape and in Maine twenty years ago. So, given today's prices, I guess it's the going price. I look forward to sampoling their other offerings!

While I appreciate the fact that it is all meat and they will make the rolls with no mayo (which is gross) upon request, the $16 lobster roll was tiny and I have no idea how anyone is full from one of these. I would need 4 of these to consider it a proper meal. The bun is tasty but likewise very small.

I treated both my Mom and Grandma to the lobster/crab and shrimp rolls and they both thoroughly enjoyed them! The rolls are PILED with meat, lightly covered with butter, added with enough spices that you taste them, but they're not overpowering. For the three of us, I ordered the Noah's Ark and an a la carte lobster roll with two bags of chips and two sodas under $63. It was very FILLING! If you love crab, then you'll love the crab roll, bc nothing's better than eating a PILE of crab and you didn't have to pull it out yourself. (At least not ALL the time!) It was pretty empty when I walked in, but then became busy as soon as I ordered. The inside isn't anything fancy, I think it fits right in being next to Brother Jimmy's. ENJOY!
