I have lived in the the Yorkville neighborhood for over 30 yrs and am truly disappointed that this place is my closest Italian eatery option. The food is way over priced and the staff is exceptionally apathetic. Not to mention you can expect at least a half an hour wait on anything that is not a slice of pizza. Also if you expect to get an order in at half time during a Monday Night football game, think again. They're closed.

I have to admit, the pizza I've had here isn't great. However, after reading reviews here for Penne Vodka, I gave this place another shot and ordered it. Well, it was so good. Seriously, I don't know how they make that sauce, but it's delicious. I'll definitely be back for it again.

To be fair, it was pouring rain the night we ordered delivery so the restaurant might have been a bit busier than normal. Having said that, the pizza was lousy. Way too much cheese, doughy crust and not much sauce. The pasta (spag+meatballs) was only slightly better. If you have other options for pizza/casual Italian, exercise them.

Luigi's pizzeria is like home away from home for me. I love italian food and their pizza is the best. I also love their chicken rolls and my husband Loves their eggplant rollatini. Their gnocchi alla vodka are out of this world. I am glad I live in the same building as where the restaurant is. It's just a leap away to my favorite food!

I've been living on the UES for 3 years now, have moved once, and this place has been a staple of my delivery diet for the entire time. Probably order from here at least 5 times/month. My faves: Veal Parm Hero, Cold Cut Trio Hero (Toasted, with dressing on the side), small house salad, Focaccia, Calzones, and the Calamari, are all awesome. Don't get the large salad b/c its pretty much just more lettuce, not more goodies. Don't get the rolls, b/c the Calzones cost pretty much the same and are made-to-order and the rock. Don't get the Pizza, its just average I would say, there are better places for that. Do get the Focaccia (topped w/ tomatoes) its cheap and good and filling. Do try getting 2 small salads, then splitting the calamari with a friend and making calamari salads, awesome. These are the things you learn from 3 years of experience.

Food was fresh and hot when delivered. Good food and would recommend!

All I can say is "alla Vodka, alla Vodka, alla Vodka." Being in New York its common to try over 5000 different italian restaurants in the course of a year. With that said, Luigi's alla Vodka sauce is amongst the best my girlfriend and I have ever had. Whether it's our favorite Gnocchi alla Vodka, or the classic Penne alla Vodka, Luigi's has become our staple Friday evening meal. If your looking for exceptional authentic Italian take-out, than this is your place. I would bathe in the alla Vodka sauce if I could, that's how amazing it truly is!
