    I ordered Gnocci with Vodka sauce. When it arrived it had meat in the dish. I called the restaurant and spoke to an Italian guy on the telephone. I asked him if the vodka sauce had meat in, being a vegetarian I was under the impression I was ordering a vegetarian dish. He said yes it has bacon in. I said I did not think vodka sauce was meat based and maybe they should mention on their menu that it is with meat. He said I don't have to change my menu for you. Vodka sauce has meat in and I should go and google it and call him back in 5 minutes. He said he was Italian and knows this. This really surprised me as I have been eating pasta in vodka sauce for years and had never encountered this. When I got off the phone, I called Tony Di Napoli's, Ottamanellis, Buon Gusto and Gino's. All the restaurants said vodka sauce's main ingredients are Tomatoes, Vodka and Cream. I googled vodka sauce and sure enough that were the ingredients. I did not find one recipe that had meat in it. If it did it would say 'Vodka sauce with Beef' or 'Vodka sauce with Procuitta'. I called back and spoke to the same guy again and he said he had asked his wife to check online and yes vodka sauce did not require meat but it could be added. So I said ok that proves my point, you should write on the menu with meat. Again he said I am not going to change my menu or the way I do business because of you. I guess neither I or any of my friends or anyone from my building will be ordering from there but what does he care! In anycase such a shame as it was such a simple point but serious lack of regard for customer service.

    So good I literally have dreams about it!

    Hands down, the best seafood pasta I have ever eaten. At only $17 I was able to get a plate filled with seafood - with everything from shrimp to squid. Luigi is definitely not one to cheap you on seafood unlike most Italian eateries. The pizza is a little pricey but what place in Manhattan isn't. Amazing food - for people with good taste and not tight on the wallet.

    We wanted to try a new pizzeria and picked Luigi's after seeing such great reviews. We ordered delivery and were very disappointed with our pizza. We got a plain cheese and the cheese had run all over the pizza so that you couldn't separate one slice from another. We let it sit for a few minutes to cool down and the cheese ended up congealing on the pizza which we've never seen happen before. It wasn't really edible after that. Luckily we also ordered mozzarella sticks and garlic knots which were tasty and had to make due with those. Word to the wise - I would either eat-in or pick up your food from Luigi's because delivery was a miss.

    Total bill w/2 bottled waters was $28 and change

    My friend was in town for work, Wifey was out w/work friends so i decided to finally go to luigi's. here are my comments... 1) its a take-out type of restaurant (no waiters) 2) a lot nicer than i was expecting 3) place is a gold mine. people didn't stop coming in 4) My friend and I shared baked ziti and a shrimp parm sub, plus i got a sicilian slice and he got a buffalo chicken slice 5) baked ziti seemed a lot smaller than delivery 6) total bill w/2 bottled waters was $28 and change 7) i would definitely go back for cheap italian

    Gluten-Free Pizza!

    If you have celiac disease or a gluten intolerance, you must have Luigi's gluten-free pizza. It is the BEST gluten free pizza in the city! I would eat it everyday if I could! I was a little uneasy about ordering it because I am very sensitive to gluten, but after a quick conversation with the staff, I saw that they were very aware of the issues of cross-contamination and took steps to ensure the pizza would be gluten-free. Order it, you will soooo pleased!

    Hands down best Itailian on the UES

    I order from here a least once a week - Penne vodka is fantastic so is the shrimp parm, the Fried Calamari/Buffalo Wings /Garlic Bread are great appetizers, the pizza is also great when i have people over for dinner everyone orders different things and is never disappointed - the delivery takes about 3o min - 45 min but its beacuse they make it fresh worth the wait ...

    Great Pasta & Great Prices

    For 3 years this has been my favorite Penne Vodka. The other week I decided to try the Fettucine Bolognese and now I found my next new Favorite. This place is great. I'm shocked anyone could write a negative review. Also great here-the Chicken Parm Subs and Pizza. Honestly, you can't go wrong. Really.
