Great place for meeting people in midtown
it's always hard to find good places to meet clients for a lunch meeting in mid-town. when I heard about Lugo, I decided to take a shot. Turns out that they recently renovated so the place looks fabulous. It's decor is chic with a great bistro feel. I went in around 12:30 with my client. I made a reservation before hand, so I didn't have to wait. Although it was a little noisy and a bit crowded, it was a great overall experience. The food wasn't cheap, but it's a great place to meet people midtown. Gnocchi was my favorite. This place is right near Madison Sq garden and Penn Station, so definitely is a spot to keep in mind.

Gem in heart of Midtown
I've worked in One Penn Plaza for the past year and I am super excited we have a new restaurant. I went with co-worker and we were surprised to find that the restaurant had changed. The decor is similar to a small bistro and the space seemed very clean, which is big for me. I ordered the Veal Chop Milanese and was astonished by the size. The price is a little steep, but it is well worth it in terms of the service you get and the food quality. The bar crowd is a little loud to have a great convo, but it's a fun atmosphere and I'll be back.

Back and Forth
I'm new to the building and I heard this place is relatively new as well. That may explain the inconsistencies. I've eaten here three times and came in for take out once as I was craving the Grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad. I just want to note that they do a really good take out. You get everything you would if you were eating in. The first two visits, I and a friend ate at the bar and had a great lunch, albeit not a cheap one, but the service was great, as was the food. The last time I came, with a friend again, we sat a table. We ordered a bottle of Valpolicella which I thought was pretty reasonably priced. We ordered the Salumi platter for 2 which was $25 which I also thought wasn't bad, however, this appetizer is NOT the way to go. The meats and cheeses were miniscul in portion size and the veggie crostoni were just not good. My friend ordered the Orrichietta with broccoli rabe and sausage and I nearly joined her as that's a favorite of mine. It was not good. A big, thick bowl of clumpy pasta with what honestly looked like dog food. I ordered the skirt steak medium, but you would not believe me if you saw it. It looked like a dried out piece of jerky that had been cooked for hours. It was tiny and sat alone against a white plate. Really really bad. The total check with tip was $175! Wow. It was very disappointing. I will go back again, to see if they're worked out the bugs, but if not, I'm sticking to my salad.

Noisy and Inconsistent
The accoustics at the front bar are daunting--way too noisy. Once inside, the service was friendly and quick. Our party of 5 was seated promptly, orders taken, and food served within a reasonable time frame. Unfortunately, the Spaghetti was horrible. But the Orcecchiette and Gnocchi were outstanding. I would go back and sample a few other offerings on the menu.
