Great vibe, food and drinks to match

Some friends and I went to see a show at BB Kings and got some drinks beforehand at Lucille's inside the club. It was a little packed but it was fun, we started talking to some cute girls at our table and we all wound up going to the show together. The drinks were really good too, most places skim on drinks around Times Square but these were strong. After the show we were starving so we went back to Lucille's to eat and have a few more drinks. The food was actually really good stuff. One of my friends couldn't stop talking about the ribs, I got the pulled pork and spicy wings, which were intense. It was nice too that there was free live music at Lucille's. Overall I definitely recommend this spot, great food, great vibe, great music, great drinks.

Food has improved, music is top notch...

I've always enjoyed the music at Lucille's - let's face it, it's hard to beat free music in Times Sq., and on top of that it's always great. Years ago I ate the food and was slightly disappointed by the menu and quality, so I stopped eating there. However, last time we went we were informed that the club made some changes to the menu, so my buddies and I decided to try the food and we were surprised by improvement in taste and quality. My wife and I plan to go next week with with a group of friends, and though we know the music will be excellent as always, this time we're going for the food.

    Not recommended

Wow....subpar food, poor service and lousy seating. And to top it off it is ridiculously expensive. I ordered fried chicken which came out as unrecognizable pieces coated in what seemed to be a Shake n' Bake rip off. Absolutely no flavor and poorly cooked. The waiter was void of personality, or skill. and kept forgetting to bring water, clear dishes or even check back to see if we needed anything else. Aside from being crammed shoulder to shoulder with our table mates, our chairs were placed half way on the carpet and the floor, which made for a slanted and uncomfortable evening. I would tell anyone thinking about seeing a show here to find another venue.

    For Tourists

This is a great music venue - when I walked in, I was excited that I was going to see a favorite band here. But they pack you in like sardines, the food is mediocre, the service poor, and they slapped a 15% service charge on our bill (for two) and then added a space for a further gratuity! And it is EXPENSIVE. Two appetizers, two mains (mac and cheese and a burger), to diet cokes - more than $77!! No bread or water on the table, and we had to BEG them to clear our appetizer plates, which they left as they dumped our mains on the table. The band was great, but I don't think I'll be back. It's a total tourist trap, with lazy wait staff serving up subpar food to tourists who know no better. I was going to try the Strawberry Fields brunch but no way now.

    Service was poor, food overpriced

i understand its time square but uf its going to be that expensive the food should at least be good. You order $14 for a plate of mac and cheese. We had a waiter that continuously messed our orders up. The place wasnt packed and he never came back to make sure we were alright or needed anything, Everytime we needed something we had to call the waiter over. Then they charged us when we checked out for things we didnt order and had to speak to a manager in order to get it taken off. The manager was also rude.

    Heavenly Brunch

Went to 'Sunday Brunch with the Harlem Gospel Choir' @ Lucilles (within the main club). On entry you get given a ticket and join the buffet queue when your ticket colour is called. They seem to squeeze too many people in at each table so we were a bit cramped and all had to get up to let each other out to get drinks (self-service unless you want alcohol). However, the food was DELICIOUS ranging from Southern fare - jambalaya, fried chicken, macaroni & cheese etc. to breakfast foods such as bacon, eggs, sausages, pastries etc. All very fresh tasting and piping hot. You can visit the buffet as many times as you like but they encourage you to wait until everyone has been up once. Unlimited food and tea, coffee & juice are all included in the price. The choir were in fantastic form and by the end of the show they'd got the whole audience on their feet. Despite initially being annoyed about being packed in like sardines, I'd thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone. Being in such close proximity to each other meant we all got talking which was fun. I went with a girlfriend but there were many couples, birthday parties and families there too. I'm in New York again in April with my boyfriend and will definitely be taking him.

Wait until you are blue in the face

My friend and I went to see the "STRAWBERRY FIELDS" show, which was as disappointing as the service. We ordered 2 special B.B. KING salads and a hamburger. Every 10 minutes for 45 minutes we asked our waitress when we could expect our salads. She kept telling us that they were on their way out. Finally, I went to the manager who 15 minutes later told us the ticket for our order had been lost! Needless to say, our waitress had never once checked. By the time we got our food, it was 1:00 and the show had started. Also,we got the salads after the hamburger! Even though it was pretty steeply priced, I must admit it was an excellent burger. The ladies bathroom had toilet paper all over the entire floor.I would have thought that a great artist would not put his name on an establishment that is so not up to standard. If B.B. KING is the owner, I would suggest he keep a closer eye on things.
