Meh
Not the best place in the world by any stretch of the imagination. The atmosphere is cute, but smells like a frat house as soon as you walk in. Food is not great for the prices you pay. A diner has better food, honestly....

romantic, edgy spot
Finally a small wine bar-type place that doesn't take itself too seriously. Meals are well-prepared and well thought out, fair portions for moderate prices. Generous salad with asparagus, goat cheese, grilled chicken and pesto is named simply -- "Chicken Salad," indicative of Luca's enviable sense of restraint. No gimmicks! With its free live serenades, pleasing array of food choices, and private-feeling candlelit tables, this is a rare find!

beautiful time
Amaizing atmosphere, as soon as we came in, the manager took very good care of us. We felt like we knew them for ever, we really had a lot of fun. We came first on a Thursday for a drink and we staid the entire night. We don't go there for a 4 stars meal but if you want some good real Italian food, nothing fancy, then you will be happy. I've been back since and I always enjoy it.

Nice Staff But That's It
I went to Luca Bar last week and excited about the brunch special. I mean free Mimosas, who can resist. Well I discovered that I could. While the staff was very nice the Manager was so rude to them that it made the already subpar food even less appetizing. I mean it could have been a nice little place to have a drink at least, but the manager’s blatant disrespect for his waitresses in front of customers is enough to keep me from ever going back there again.

Nice place but not great food
Had drinks there once that turned into dinner. The place is fun for drinks but the food was bland and not impressive. My friend had crab cakes that had sand or something very close to the texture of sand in them. My first course came out cold but tasted okay. I found it expensive and not worth it. I would go for the drinks has it has a good atmosphere but pass on the food!

Great Place!
Enjoyed a very intimate and delicious dinner here on a Friday night. Food was excellent. The owner greeted us as we entered. Wait staff were helpful and efficient. Loved it!

Best place in the EV
This restaurant/wine & beer bar is the best place to eat in the East Village! Not only do they have GREAT food (and a great wine list - try the Crianza), cooked by the chef and owner the service is terrific, the ambience is very laid back, and they play a terrific mix of eclectic music. They also have live flamenco guitarists on Tuesday nights. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone, young or old, who enjoys a nice night out with wonderful food in a relaxed and genial atmosphere.
