    Southern Hospitality in NYC

As a transplanted Southerner I'm always anxious to try any southern restuarants that open in NY. Lowcountry did not disappoint. The bartender and manager were both very attentive and the food was excellent. The best fried green tomatoes I've had outside my Aunt Mary's kitchen. It's a cozy spot to just hang out and have a drink...I don't like bourbon but I did like the bourbon drinks the bartender suggested. I will be back, and soon.

    Can't wait to go back

Love this place. Had the fried tomatoes, deviled eggs, mac and cheese, fried pickles and fried chicken - all delicious. I can't wait to go back!

    Fabulous!

After reading the other reviews, I was expecting to have to communicate the whole night with my friend via text message. Even though the place was packed (Friday night), we were promptly seated and the noise level was totally manageable. We were pleasantly surprised at the low lighting and overall coziness of the place and the service, contrary to some of the other reviews, was seamless the whole night--in fact, some of the most attentive service I've had in a long time. But the food was truly the piece de resistance. We had the crab dip, deviled eggs, and fried green tomatoes, all of which were seriously delicious (especially the FGT). The chicken bisquit was divine. My friend ordered the pork belly special, which I didn't care for as much (had a bit of a sweet Asian taste to it), but she seemed to enjoy it just fine. The sweet tea vodka cocktails were also pretty memorable. I would absolutely recommend this place and, even though I like to constantly try new places, would return here again and again.

    No southern hospitality here

Decent food but way overpriced. The service was atrocious and definitely didn't have any "southern charm."

New Hot Spot in West Village

I was in love with this place from start to finish. I had a reservation but then decided to eat at the bar. The bartender was beautiful and very charming. Everything she recommended was spot on. She made very great martinis and manahttans. The food was insanely tastey. I will definitely be returning and bringing all of my friends. The vide and music are great. Best new place in West Village.

    Dishonest and inept

Showed up for late-evening reservations and waited at bar, since table wasn't ready. After 20 minutes, asked hostess for update and she explained that the table had paid and we're just waiting for them to get up. After 40 minutes - with no further communication from hostess - bartender offered us complimentary drinks. After ONE HOUR - and still no word from hostess - we walked out to eat somewhere else. Obviously the first explanation for the delay was a lie. We were also never offered any food, on-the-house or otherwise, at the bar; also, several bar tables turned over during this time and we were never offered one. When we pointed this out to the hostess on the way out, she said, "you said you didn't want a bar table." This was a lie - no one had even asked us. Spend your money elsewhere at one of the many other, good places in the neighborhood.

    Less than mediocre

What a disappointing experience. The food is soooo average, you don't even get bread before your meal arrives and our waitress could not have been any less interested in taking care of our table of 10. Aggravatingly, the ubiquitous 18% service charge was added and had I not been at someone else's birthday party I would have refused to pay it. Lazy. Dull. Totally uninspiring. The only thing I will say is the guys that bus the tables and re-set were amazing. Hope they saw some of that tip.
