After the demise of Barrio, this is my new go-to for cheap and cheerful mexican in park slope. Everything is reliable and some things are very good - the tamales, for example, were delicious (and I'm not much of a fan of tamales generally). I also love their gorditas. The only thing I don't like is that their pitchers of drinks work out to be nearly the same price as individual drinks (as other reviewers have noted).

I picked up some take out from Politos. I hadn't been there in a while because they always get your order wrong and the food is not as good as it used to be. So, I purchased some food for my son and I, and it was just mediocre. They forgot half of my order and when I called to say that they forgot to put the chips and salsa in the bag, at first they said to come back for it, but by that time I was too far away. Then they said they didn't charge me for it, and when I told them they did, the attitude was like too bad so sad. Sorry. Never again. I should have checked the bag before I left.

We order take out from here about once a week and it is always fresh and delicious! I get the veggie tostada for $2.75 and it honestly is enough for a meal!! Layers of black beans, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, cilantro, and queso fresco..umm..so good! I am not at all into pork, but here it is delicate and tender. My husband loves the chorizo burrito.

Friendly folks, really good food. Simple take out became a feast.

I decided to take my father to Bogota's for his birthday, but when we got there there was a 45 minute wait. So we decided to try Los Pollitos 2, accross the street. Since this is Park Slope, I had to drive around for like ten minutes to find parking. When i got there, my father had already gotten a table, and briefly chit chatted with the owner. We ordered our drinks first, mojito and pina colada, they were GOOD, potent and sweet :). Next the food, Carne Asada and chicken platter, DELICIOUS. You could tell they were made fresh, and full of flavor. And while were enjoying our good food and drinks, theres this musician playing some Latin music in the background, great entertainment! And to top it off, somehow the owner knew it was my fathers birthday and brought out a tres leches cake with a candle and got the musician to sing happy birthday to him, without me instructing him to do so! It was wonderful. He absolutely went out of his way when he didnt have to. AWESOME Service! I will definitely be going back. The whole experience was wonderful and half the price of Bogota's!

I've been to Los Pollitos II several times over the years and won't be returning. The food here is increasingly "meh" and the service isn't very good either. If you're looking for Mexican food in Park Slope, pretty much all of your other options are better.

Good food......pricey sangria I went to this place for a quick bite and some drinks. It was a hot night and we didn’t want anything too heavy. The waiter was very attentive and asked what we wanted to drink. There were four of us and we all decided on sangria. We also ordered some tacos and fresh guacamole. The tacos were great! They were so fresh and light. I highly recommend them. This was the problem when the bill came they charged us $45.00 for the pitcher of sangria. I’ve never paid that much for sangria in my life!!! Try the food, but STAY away from the pricey sangria pitchers.
