    Sloppy and Mushy

This place has the worse pad thai I have ever had! It's drown in a fishy, overly sweet sauce. It contains wilted and flavorless veggies to boot! The mango sticky rice would be decent except that the mango is rotten. They then turn around and charge their customers higher prices than their better competitors. I tried it once and I won't have it again.

    Best value and great food...

I have been going to Long Tan for ten years, ok 8, and except for the couple of years that Chef Jeff was gone, the place has been consistently one of the best values in the hood with better and more creative dishes than most of the more expensive restaurants in the area. Surprisingly sophisticated is what I'd call it. The salmon with mushroom crust is amazing, and the specials menu is a tribute to a chef who is on his game... dessert variety to suit the parochial western palate and enough delicious meat and potatoes dishes to satisfy even uncle Gomer from Mayberry. Ernest and friendly waiters, great bar staff and cocktail menu, nice garden, and if I were to complain about anything it would be lack of attention to the bathrooms....

If you like flavor, consider Long Tan Flavor Country.

Ive been going to Long Tan for a very long time now, and i figure its about time i write a review for my favorite restaurant in park slope. The food is excellent, especially the apps, and even if you are not into thai you can find something on the menu that matches your taste. In regards to their cocktails, i think they make the best mojito i have ever had. lastly i would mention the badass bruce lee themed bathroom. For those who have been there you know what i mean!

    Beyond good

This really is far and away the best Thai in the area. While Song is decent, they are nowhere near as creative as Long Tan, and their service is not nearly as good. You find really creative dishes (esp the specials) that go far beyond the mainstay Thai normalities. The ingredients used here are always the freshest. The bar also has some solid cocktails (i.e., a Dark and Stormy--which I look for everywhere but usually cannot find). The bar stays open late, and there's also a great bar menu that's real easy on your wallet. "Customer No More" has no idea what he's talking about, so don't let that review dissuade you.

    Good food, nice atmosphere

Don't let the shoddy awning deceive you - this is a great restaurant. The Pad See Ew is among the best I've had. Sitting in the garden is especially nice and relaxing - they never seem to mind you taking your time there. And, in the cold weather, the restaurant is fairly quiet if you're looking for a less hip alternative to Song, down the street.

    Don't bother getting delivery!

We've had good meals from Long Tan before, but tonight's delivery order was totally unappealing. 7 items - apps and meals arrived. Two containers broken and the rest smashed. The ink from the container lids seeped into to the food. Disgusting! For the amount spent, it was not worth it. I'll go back to reliable delivery in the Slope and pass on Long Tan in the future.

    Great for Late Night!

For late night in park slope, After 1am, your choices are diner food, greasy Chinese, Blue Ribbon and, fortunately, Long Tan. I've eaten there 6 or 7 times at all times of the day and (1) the portion sizes are ALWAYS huge, (2) the dishes are incredibly consistent and truly flavorful. Plus (3) you have to give them extra points for lovely service (delivery folks included) and (4) being a step above the usual Thai when it comes to inventiveness (vegetarian yellow curry comes with sweet corn, redskin potatoes and butternut squash...green curry has HUGE prawns in it, and the summer rolls are even top shelf with green tea noodles instead of lettuce). There are 6 different kinds of pad thai on the menu, which is another tip off to the attention to detail....They also have non-Thai dishes like a gigantic pork shoulder with mashed potatoes that rivals any of the classy American fare spots on Smith Street. Not many places offer the full menu after midnight, and don't forget there is a full bar available to make it a super fun late night stop
