    hooray lomzynianka

based on the reviews, my boyfriend and i had to check this place out ourselves. i'm so glad we did! the fake flowers, cheesy still life paintings and colorful streamers created a festive atmosphere. the sole waitress was pretty over-extended but she was sweet and attentive nonetheless. and our mushroom-barley soup, pierogies, veal balls with dill sauce and kasha were all delicious. the mashed potatoes were a little dry but that was our only complaint. will come back soon!

    No better.

Lomzynianka makes me proud to be polish. I've brought so many people here to introduce them to polish cuisine because there is no place who does it better. Everything on the menu is delicious. I recommend the polish platter to get a taste of everything, and some pierogis (be sure to order a variety), and some potato pancakes, and some hungarian pie. And do not ever go without getting the white borscht. chunks of kielbasa in soup. It doesn't get any better. I travel a distance from Queens, but I keep coming back for more.

    Polska

It was just awesome. I haven't had borscht since I was a kid, and this was wayyyyy better than the borscht I had as a kid. Also had pierogies they were good. Boy had the polish platter, which was astounding (I was a big fan of the bigos).

    Pierogis and potato pancakes

So delicious. The polish platter is also really great, and you can't beat the atmosphere with the little lamps on the table. The blintzes make a great dessert, and the bill is always such a pleasant surprise. BYO Polish beer and enjoy!

    Go here

This is the best food value in New York. Such amazing Polish food and a very homey atmosphere. The Bigos is fantastic, the borscht is delicious. It isn't health food, but I promise you won't hungry for a few days. It's also BYOB, so pick up a few zywiecs on the way. The waiter is very nice and works hard to serve you your food quickly. Do I see Grandma in the back there?

    Awesome Polish

This restaurant is so wonderful. The decor is amazing (lace table clothes, plastic flowers, mounted deer head, ribbons tied from the ceiling...) and so is the hearty homemade food. I am a big fan of the vegetable borscht, which is so healthy-tasting and delicious, I could have it every day. The pierogies are unbeatable and so are the mashed potatoes, which taste just like my mom's. Amazing.
