Rude
I've been living in NYC for many years and have always loved Lombardi's Pizza- however, I took my visiting family here and was treated incredibly rude by the hostess and our server. We were seated at our table while one member of our party was in the restroom, our server yelled at us for having sat down when our party was not complete. When explained to her that one of us was in the restroom, she refused to take our order until all members were seated?! I'm sorry I didn't get the memo you can't go to the bathroom anymore- I felt horrible for my family and when we asked for a manager another server (I suppose head server) came over and told us we shouldn't have been seated either. Finally I went up front to the hostess and asked for the general manager. I waited for several minutes and then explained the situation, he was completely clueless about the staff and did not know how to react. What a waste of time and effort.

No wait and quick service
Perhaps it was a fluke, but our group of eight diners arrived at 1 pm and were seated almost immediately. We had breadsticks, bruschetta, and salad to start. They were all okay, but a waste of stomach space. The pizza was delicious and arrived within ten minutes of ordering. The pies were piping hot and thin crust, which I love. I liked the ricotta with meatballs the best. The veggie pie with spinach and mushrooms was a close second. The service was attentive and efficient. I'll definitely be back.

awful environment
This place has great pizza, but the long lines and wait, at least 45 minutes minimum for any table size, and the obnoxious tourist crowd, absolutely ruin this place. After going here for years, I can no longer visit Lombardis. I would recommend going at least once, just to try the great pizza. But be prepared to wait a long time, have poor service, and spend about 3 hours just for some pizza. Some tips? Choose an off time on a warm day, bring cash (it's all they take), and have a whole lot of patience. Oh, and go with less than 4 people.

Best pizza in NYC
Go here whenever i can. Best pizza i've ever had. You can wait a long time but its well worth the wait. Don't bother with starters, bread sticks aren't up to much and the salads are plain, you're best of saving room for the amazing pizza. Also very cheap.

Long wait
This place is fantastic. Go there all the time large pie with sausage and ricotta cheese is the best. The clam pie is very good as well( No Sauce ). The only problem is the long wait but it is worth it. Kind of expensive. Dont do delivery -- this type of pizza doesn"t travel well the box seems to steam it and take away the crispyness.

Can't Miss this Icon
Lombardi's is America's first pizzeria and it's a fun experience. If you go on the weekend, plan to WAIT!! It's filled with locals and a lot of tourists. Pizza is very tasty, although expensive. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, despite the chaos of the crowds. Because of price and the long wait though, we would probably choose some place else in the future. Definitely a pizzeria to try once though!

Must go at least once
Intrigued by their claim that they were the first pizzeria in America, along with the fact that this was one of the few coal-oven pizzerias in the city, and, I had to try this place out. We odered a large pie for the 3 of us, which was just enough, half plain and half with garlic spinach. I preferred the spinach slice, although I couldn't quite taste the garlic. Overall, the pizza was good, but I think I like Grimaldi's better. The bruschetta looked very good also, I will try that and a calzone the next time.
