Great pizza! The sauce and cheese are great, and I think I've found the perfect combination which really brings out the flavor: red onions, meatballs, and pepperoni. Folding a slice of this and wolfing it down is like being in heaven. I've finished an entire pizza myself because I couldn't stop eating it!

i don't care if you have or haven't lived in new york...comparing this to a pizza-by-the-slice takeout place, of which there are infinite in town, is nonsensical. this is restaurant pizza from a coal-fired oven, not a huge cheap greasy slice that's been sitting out for hours until it gets reheated when you order it. for what it is, it measures up fine against the competition. quality ingredients, not piled on as if it's a salad sitting on bread, but made in a relatively traditional style. crust a little thick for me, but still good. in general, ignore the review of anyone who complains about prices. this is new york. it's not a value competition. it's about good food.

I live 2 blocks from this place and it has completely spoiled me when it comes to pizza. I get the white pizza, 4 different cheeses, no sauce..it is the best pizza I have ever had [and I'm from Chicago so I've had a few good pizzas in my time]. The regular cheese pizza is only so-so, not enough cheese, sauce is only okay, but the white pizza is just outstanding. Usually pretty crowded but no longer than 15-20 minute wait. I just cannot praise the white pizza highly enough, definitely mark it down when you're visiting or in the Nolita area.

I grew up in NY, moved to California 30 years ago, visit 3-4 times a year, and have pizza every time I go. Living in NY I never heard of Lombardi's and read the on-line review, so I said to my wife, damn...we're gonna eat there next time we go. Last week I went to Lombardi's with a friend who has lived in NY most of his life, also never been there. So we sit down, look at the menu and after 10 minutes the waiter comes by... a bit of an attitude, but, hey, this is Lombardi's so he's entitled... we order a SMALL plain pizza, my wife orders a plain salad [she doesn't eat meat or dairy], we have one glass of wine and two cokes. Twenty minutes later [no kidding] the food comes. The salad is a plain green salad with some cheese on top [OK, after all, it is a pizza place] and the pizza, well, I could tell by looking it would be a disappointment. People, this is not second rate pizza, it is third rate pizza... no flavor to the sauce, the crust is not crisp, a few splatters of cheese and some basil leaves. We ate half, just to be polite, and asked f0r a check and the rest to go. The check comes, it is $32.00!!! For a small pizza, a green salad, two cokes and a glass of wine! Unbelievable! I admit we didn't look at the prices on the menu, because, after all, this is pizza [when I lived in NY it was 75 cents a slice].

There is no place in the world that serves better pizza than Lombardi's! It is the most delicious food ever. Do not leave NYC without going to Lombardi's first. I live in the upper east side and will travel to soho just to pick up a pizza! I love this place!

I could eat this pizza everyday, it is so heavenly! All of these reviewers complaining about the lines at the restaurant should realize that the reason for that is the restaurant is amazing, and thus very very popular. I have introduced tons of friends to this place and everyone is addicted after trying it. The sauce, crust, cheese, all perfect every time. I order delivery at least once a week and have never been disappointed. The only possible complaint I might be able to come up with is that sometimes they put the toppings on too heavily and that can disguise the fabulous pizza base. Highly recommend this place.

Thin-crust pizza served piping hot was well worth the price (@ $20) and the wait. My friends and I went there on a Friday afternoon @ 4pm, waited 10 minutes and were seated. Service was pleasant, and our water glasses were constantly replenished (we really couldn't afford anything more than the Pizza!) The atmosphere is noisy, but hey, that's Noo Yawk.. I have worked in NYC for almost 20 years and never really went to Little Italy but I have made a solemn vow to get to Lombardi's at least once a month. Lip-smacking good pizza!
