There are many pizza joints in the city but this is one real gem that tourists and locals flock to simply because the pizzas are so addictive!

Our night started with waiting almost 40 minutes after we were told it would be 25, and have to put our name on their list three times after they crossed us off twice without calling us. Then our waitress comes up to us and asks "did ya decide?" Not "Hi or Hello are you ready to order"... we order our pizza with pepperoni, and we did get our pizza pretty quick, but we were extremely disappointed in the lack of toppings we got for the $3 charge. The pizza did taste pretty good, but the crust was crisp and the rest was still slightly doughy. As my family owns a pizza shop with a brick oven, I would say, cool your oven a little bit and cook it longer so your customers aren't eating raw dough. Our server only asked us how things were when we were done with the pizza and our drinks, didn't ask us if we wanted anything else, at this point we didn't, except for our check. We pay, and she gives us the wrong change, thankfully it was in our favor. So the net $0.75 tip that we left (the lowest tip I've ever left) was far too much, for the lack of service that we received from her. Doubt I'll ever go back, I'm glad I had better pizza, so I didn't totally give up on pizza in NYC.

besides their classic pie being perfection, their calzone is fire. i add meatballs and mushrooms. amazing combination. they deliver quite promptly considering how busy they always are. definitely THE pizza spot downtown. only negative: cash only.

After eating the pizza at Lombardi's I will have a hard time ever eating pizza anywhere else.

My wife and I ate there last week and had a great experience. I think Grimaldi's is still my favorite NYC pizza joint, but this was excellent. We split an OK ceasar salad and shared an excellent 3 topping pizza. Nice service. We were in the front room, which provided a fun late night atmosphere. After dinner we wandered around. Some of the other rooms are Siberia-like, but that may suit those looking for quieter dining. They have a stupid policy to not offer refills on sodas or ice tea. C'mon, what's the deal?

My friend and I, went to Lombardi's last night for the first time, we usually go to Arturo's on Houston Street. Pizza was not that tasty, crust too thin, nothing special about the pizza at all. No compariosn to Arturo's. We will never go there again. It's a good tourist trap...

We frequently travel and have tried many pizza restaurants. We find the pizza quality to be consistant as well as the service. Sure the place can get a bit crowded but the food makes up for it.
