Still the best
Excellent pizza. The crust is thin and the tomato sauce (from Italy) bursts in your mouth. Atmosphere leaves a little to be desired, but that is part of the history and charm.

Glad I tried it, Moving on...
I was there last weekend. This is known to be the "best pizza in New York". I don't know about that... The pizza was did not meet my expectations. I was told to order the baked clams by a New York friend of mine, too bad they do not exist at Lombardi's. To top off my night the service was poor! My waitress was not helpful, slow and carried a bit of an attitude. I almost didn't want to bother her for extra napkins! I tried it and now I will move on to the next.

Very good but not great
Once or twice a year we give Lombardi's a chance to knock our socks off, and once or twice a year it just never happens. The pizza is very good, much better than most places, but it just isn't perfect. The crust could be thinner, the edges could be crunchier and cooked more, the sauce could be fresher. This isn't a genuine Italian pizza, but it's close. (It's better than John's on Bleecker Street by the way...but still it's not the perfect pie.)

Fabulous pizza
I had read about this place in a guide book, and since I was a first time visitor to NYC, this is where I wanted to experience New York pizza. The small pepperoni pizza that my friend and I ordered was SOOO very good. It was the same size as a "medium" pizza here in the Midwest but for a very good price. I understand that Lombardi's has a rich history of making excellent pizza, and it's definitely a place I'll insist on going during my next visit.

Impeccable
This place is by far the best pizza in New York. Their service is always friendly, their delivery radius is hard to top (they deliver all the way to Avenue A and 14th!) and their pizza is by far the best quality in Manhattan. HUGE pizzas with the freshest ingredients. Best pepperoni pizza in the city. Make sure you check this place out, especially if you are in the area. If you've had their delicious pizza and you're in the East Village with a hankering for their food, give them a ring, they'll still deliver to you, much to your surprise!

Great NY Pizza!
I LOVE Lombardi's! If you want great New York style pizza, Lombardi's is the place to go. The wait wasn't too long and we got our pizza in a very timely manner. If you are in NY for a visit, Lombardi's is a must!

The ydstk. for NY pizza
Lombardi's is still the yardstick against which all NY pizza must be measured. I was less than thrilled with the dee-loox seat I had next to the wheezing basement water heater overlooking a cruddy subterranean storage dungeon (my daughter's chair was scrunched by the out-of-service industrial strength dough mixer)...but the pizza was eaten with my eyes closed 80% of the time. Insist on a 1st floor table: worth the wait.
