Thank You
I am from Southern California and appreciate authentic Mexican cooking. I have been deprived for the last few years and was shocked to learn of Lolita's around the corner from my apartment. I love the food here. Value? Maybe not for Mexican Food, but for anyone who needs it, or craves it.... you will pay anything for a Carne Asada (Biztec) Taco. The prices are not outrageous, just enough to pay for the authenticty. The service, while slow at times, is always friendly and makes one feel like family. I recommend this place for anyone who loves their beloved hole-in-the-wall-Mexican-joint from home.

Overpriced Mexican
I was initially excited about Lolita's moving into the neighborhood, but as I've watched the prices on the menu go up over time, I'm starting to have my doubts. Taqueria y Fonda offers great mexican food, delivers in the same area, and their prices arent' nearly what you'll find at Lolita's. While the decor of the restaurant is cute, and service has been consistently good, the quality of the ingredients are lacking and definitely not worth the price on the menu. The chiles rellenos poblanos were delicious, but not worth the $13 and change I paid for them.

best mexican in UWS
I have had a lot of mexican from UWS and this is the best by far. So fresh- the guac is great, the choriso is wonderful- no grease and so much of it! The chilate de pollo was the best soup I have had in years. delivery was very fast and the price was great.

Seriously excellent food & amazing service
This is a gem! Worth a trip from anywhere. Price is right. Food is delish!! Guac is super, steak is like butter -- perfectly cooked, fajitas very yummy! Order the strip steak with tomatillo sauce -- you'll thank me! Large steak, big amount of plantains, and great salad with about a whole avocado! YUM! And the manager is fantastic! He was also our waiter & so accomodating & nice & went the extra mile to make our meal very enjoyable! I was really, really impressed! BYOB. Gooooooooo

Real Mexican
I was born and raised in the Southwest (AZ to be exact) and this is the ONLY restaurant in NY that is anything close to the Mexican food that I grew up eating. The salsa was delicious, however the guacamole was just ok. I definitely will be back!

Love the guacamole!
great place to eat! great staff, the food is delicious and I have never tasted a better guacamole. Real Mexican food, cooked at the moment, I don't eat spicy food and they suggested the least spicy plates and they were great, not like other places. I will definitely eat there.
