    Lodge

My boyfriend has loved this place from the beginning. Two years ago I was not impressed but now it's my favorite place. Prices are reasonable for what you get - which is a nice portion of healthy food. It's a pleasure to get good meats (including burgers) and fish and solid veggies on one plate! I can't remember ever having a problem with the service though I can probably only say I had exceptional service once or twice. Recommended, for sure.

    great atmosphere, unpleasant service

Came here for a casual dinner. First, i asked if they had any homemade lemonade or iced tea. Of course, I was told. So five minutes later, I was brought a mason jar full of what amounted to super sweet sugar water, with not the slightest hint of lemon. Totally bizarre "house made" drink. Even after watering it down halfway, it was too sweet for words. Waited forever for our orders. Waited forever for silverware! My mussels were in a SUPER SALTY broth. And NO bowl to put the shells in, so i improvised. A hunk of bread accompanied this dish. My friend told me that they opened a little outpost where they were making this bread. Let me just say, this was the kind of bread you end up with the first time you ever attempt to make bread. Amateur hour. The fries that came with the mussels were not bad, but were greasy and mostly little nubs that you usually find at the bottom of a serving. There were only a few full length pieces. My fiance's organic chicken was totally saltless and flavorless, and the radicchio was a bland mess. The gouda mac and cheese was cold, bland and used the wrong kind of past for it's purpose. At the end, a $5 "cappuccino" came out without a saucer (??), and ended up spilling through the table cracks onto my friend's lap. That's what saucers are for i guess. It was a crappy coffee with milk trying to get passed off as a cappuccino. It's a real shame, cause this place has a great atmosphere on a good corner. Too bad they don't seem to give a damn about the food and service they provide.

    Fun Brunch

Brunch is a good time. Starting with the host, you get a smell to go along with the announcement you probably have a little wait coming. Don't underestimate friendliness around these parts. The last brunch we made the servers, host and even a chef were all cheesing it up. Drinks are tasty and some 2 for 1. We really like the omelets, pancakes not so much. We've made it for lunch as well. Loved the popcorn shrimp. The one dinner we had was a disappointment. Staff is kid friendly, too, for the times we want to bring the little one along. I don't mean they bring crayons and such; they're just nice and don't mind flashing a smile or sharing a laugh.

Heaping piles of salt mixed with meat

Was here recently and had a special of stuffed peppers that was possibly the saltiest thing I've ever tasted; it was similar to sucking on a ski glove used to salt a side walk then dried on a heater. It seems as though someone has written a menu of items that they don't know how to make.

    Delivery is bland

My boyfriend & I ate brunch there a couple of weeks ago & dinner there this past Tuesday. Both meals were excellent & we've been raving. We ordered brunch for delivery & not only did it take over an hour (we were told would be 45 minutes) but the food was tasteless. I had the biscuits & gravy with eggs & veggie sausage. The gravy had zero flavor - even if there's no meat in the actual gravy it's possible to give it flavor. The eggs were not good, again zero flavor. The grits which we've had in the restaurant & were delicious were flavorless again. The tofu scramble again had no flavor what-so-ever. I'm really disappointed. I'll definitely eat from Lodge again but in house no more delivery for me.

    service still poor

clearly there is a problem with service since more than half of the people on this board complain about it. i would agree that the service leaves much to be desired.

    awesome food but....

...not so awesome service, exp at brunch. granted it's crazy but it can talk a while to get food and some of the waitstaff is way better than others. but the food is so good it doesn't matter to me. and two for one bloody mary's?? makes up for having to wait for food or to have to follow up on your long awaited coffee or water.
