I just needed to combat the recent negative reviews this place is getting. I've been to Lodge proper a few times (always for brunch) and General Store (the sandwich, coffee, juice, and pastries shop attached, which should really have its own page) countless times for breakfast or lunch sandwiches. Both are excellent. At Lodge there's a pretty diverse and vegetarian-friendly (used to be one) selection, and pretty much everything seems to be good. I went there with a large group once and tried everyone's order - I wasn't disappointed by anything, and several things were fantastic. I especially recommend the chorizo corncakes. But what I'm really crazy about are the breakfast sandwiches next door at General Store. You have a lot of options, including excellent vegetarian sausage and bacon, lots of different cheeses, etc. I usually get the egg and veggie bacon (I'm not even a vegetarian anymore) on a croissant with smoked gouda, sometimes with spinach as well. My partner gets a BALT (BLT + avocado) which is outstanding. And their homemade juices are out of control. Anyway, I highly recommend both Lodge and General Store. Just don't waltz in at 1pm on a Sunday and expect to be seated right away.

decided to come to Lodge for brunch after hearing really good things...heres the good: 2 for 1 mimosa's cant beat that, place itself was really nice, service started out good...bad:ordered a bratwurst sandwich.got an undercooked italian sausage.after the 1st bite and seeing the almost raw inside kinda lost my appetite.tater tots were reaaalllly salty and my friend had a side order of bacon was so overdone it didnt even taste like bacon.biscuits and gravy w/sausage were good,as was my other friends steak and eggs, but that was about it.i really hope they can work out the inconsistencies because i think it could be a really good place.wanted to try the dinner menu but now im a little hesitant.

This is my favorite restaurant, period. The food is incredible and inventive and the servers are great. Make sure you hear the specials!

admittedly i have not been here for brunch, which everyone seems to flock to and rave about. but i have eaten of the lodge's general store many times, and have also ordered in from there. the food at times is ok, but sometimes it just plain sucks. and the people working there also don't seem to have it together most of the time. case in point: my girlfriend and i were hungry for some greasy hangover food and we called for a delivery order. yes, it was at prime brunch time, so i wasn't expecting lightning fast delivery. anyway, my girl wanted a simple egg and cheese sandwich, and i ordered the salmon blt. we also got an order of home fries. 30-40 minutes later, i get a phone call. it's lodge. they tell me they have decided that the salmon blt will not be served at brunches, only during regular lunch hours. my girl's egg sandwich is good to go, but would i like something else instead? why did they not know this when i ordered the sandwich? i ask if our egg sandwich is now going to be sitting there cold while they make me something else. they of course say no, it just came out. i tell them to just give me a regular blt and refund the difference to my credit card (yup, already paid for the food). probably another 30 minutes later the food arrives. it is extremely disappointing. the fries that came with one of the sandwiches are super salty. the home fries we ordered are not seasoned well at all and extremely bland. my gf's egg sandwich looked skimpy in its fancy bun and she said it was flavorless. my bacon was nasty and fatty and possibly undercooked in spots. $24 or so dollars and over an hour wait bought us a meal that we'd have been much happier with had it come from the diner down the block. and at least diner's know what's on their menu--and if they promise something they can't deliver, they figure it out and make it for you! i will go by the lodge general store in person and have a breakfast burrito from time to time. but i will never order from them again--it's like a bad joke. and seriously, stay away from the salmon blt. it's only there to entice people, they don't actually make it. i've ordered it once before and i couldn't have it for some other silly reason.

This has been a favorite since it opened, but I have been increasingly disappointed over the past year, and not sure I will be back. drinks are always great, but the food has gone downhill. ate her with husband and friend, and the appetizer special we had was good, but across the board our entrees were bland and uninspired. such a shame, because we love the atmosphere, the prices have remained so reasonable for the neighborhood, and our server was attentive and nice.

My boyfriend has loved this place from the beginning. Two years ago I was not impressed but now it's my favorite place. Prices are reasonable for what you get - which is a nice portion of healthy food. It's a pleasure to get good meats (including burgers) and fish and solid veggies on one plate! I can't remember ever having a problem with the service though I can probably only say I had exceptional service once or twice. Recommended, for sure.
