Big bar scene, overpriced silly cocktails but great bar nuts. Food was overpriced. Great quality food but trying too hard to mix various spices and tastes. Heavy on pork flavors. Surprised that it wasn't featured as a gelato flavor. All in all not worth it.

My boyfriend and I decided to go here for a special occasion. We made reservations for late on a sunday night. We were promptly seated....at a horrible table right next to the host stand squished in a corner... this really took away from the atmostphere, The menu is also pretty much in all italian wich is annoying if you don't know any italian and the wine list could use some decriptions to make decisions easier and spend less time asking question... These are my only complaints...on to the good stuff... We started with the blue crab crostini. Delicious, with lots of lump crab meat on a tiny crostini, wish it had been spread out on bigger bread, but it was supper yummy. We both decided we weren't starving so we decided on just 2 pasta dishes, no entrees. Note the pasta dishes are intermediate sized, good for sharing, but not your entree if you are looking to leave stuffed. We had the spicy priet's collars which had a large amount calamari in a pesto...scrumptious! We also had the grandmas ravioli wich was pretty much mind blowing. Every time you bit into one it had an intense burst of flavor...umami all the way. For dessert we shared the fantasia for 2, which had brown butter and pumpkin gelato. Great fall flavors, all around decent well priced night.

Loved the food. Loved the wine. Loved the courtyard seating. Loved the host/bartender/manager/bus boy (who was awesome). Was horrified by our waiter. As a former waitress, I completely get how things in a restaurant get screwed up. What I don't get is how our waiter could let us sit there for 15 minutes while flitting around, not tell us his name, mumble and glance around while taking our order (having to ask me to repeat everything i said), have no solid wine recommendations, no solid food recommendations, let our food sit on the bar (while he was 20 ft away) until it was so cold we had to send it back (after another waitress had to bring it over) and ignore us so completely that the manager and another waitress took care of us 50% of the time (we overheard them grumbling about him). Come on man. Bad waitstaff can ruin an otherwise phenomenal meal.

Every employee from the front desk to the bus boys had what seemed like genuine smiles...professionals.Atmosphere was friendly and warm. Our delightful waitress was well educated on menu and exact preparation and the extensive, reasonable wine list suggesting a red wine from a region unfamiliar to us.Then the food...what a treat. The sheep's milk ricotta w/garlic toast, fettucine with chanterelle mushrooms, grilled octupus, unbelievable roasted chicken and semi freddo dessert. OMG! We left LV comfortably full with a reservation on our way out for next week.

Went to this place last night for the first time and was pleased by the ambience! Great atmosphere and I was excited to be there -- until we met the bartender (management fyi - btwn 8-10pm Wed night). I imagine service isn't easy but why do it if you can't be vaguely pleasing in your delivery to the point of making two polite patrons feel like they are an imposition? The food was ok, not great, not bad. The wine was great until the bartender, perhaps due to laziness, his clear disinterest and/or generally rude disposition, decides to refill the same glasses (regardless of a change in wine or not, I'd expect a new glass in a place like that - maybe I'm wrong). I hate to say it but great ambience and decent food combined with one poor service touchpoint can spoil your evening and prevent you from returning.

Anyone who writes that the staff is rude and unfriendly must be nuts! From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted with friendly smiles, and our waiter was more than eager to help us with our menu and wine selections. The food alone is reason to come back (the chicken for two is to die for!!) but the overall dining experience, including a cozy lit room and servers at the top of their game makes it a standout!!

Destination: Locanda Verde. Mission: Four pals looking for a good meal/good time...not a difficult request, is it? Issues: 1. We were told they serve "family style portions"...NEGATIVE. 2. Server was new and inexperienced with no personality...DISAPPOINTING. 3. Wine by the glass was of the CHEAPEST pour...RECESSION, HELLO? (Throw Us A Bone!). By our 3rd round, we had had enough of this NONSENSE with our barely-filled wine glasses. We politely sent them back and decided to buy the bottle instead (better bang for our buck.) We were told by our waitress 1 st then by JUNIOR management that we would have to drink the glasses that were already filled FIRST - then they'd bring over the remainder of the already OPENED bottle...hmm? TIS A TRUE TALE, FOLKS :-( We asked to speak with the GM but dealt with two unskilled managers & were never directed to the head GM in charge. Not only did management lack in social grace but they didn't offer to hear us out. If we wanted to get scolded at our table & feel like a 5 year old children (like we did,) we would've dined at our parent's homes. 4. The "Customer Is Always Right" does not apply here. They have NEVER heard of this concept. POO POO ON YOU, LV. Good luck - Just because you're the New Kid On The Block, doesn't mean you mistreat paying customers and leave them with a bad taste in their mouth. IT'S BAD KARMA :-( If LV runs their restaurant like they did last night, they're bound to end up like Ago - IN THE TOILET!
