Good food, Poor service
Waited over an hour for our lunch entree to arrive, and had to chase the waiter around the restaurant to even get his attention...they eventually brought us our food only after we canceled the order. Would not come here for lunch unless you have a 2-3 window.

Too bad
Service poor. Too many rules. Poorly stocked bar. The will one day wake up and not be the hot spot and wonder why. The answer will be.that you forgot that you are there for the customer not the other way around.

Smashingsly Delish!
Food is amazing amazing amazing. I haven't been to a great italian in a long long time. It's simple food, starting with the freshest ingredients, elevated to another level. A couple of small negatives... Went for dinner last night. The waiter was attentive but I was a little taken aback when he said they (the restaurant staff?) expect each person to order an appetizer and an entree each...what if you just want a salad and an app, as lots of us gals like to when watching our girlish figures? Well, luckily, as I perused the menu and watched food being brought to the table next to us, I wanted to order everything on the menu anyway, so no problem, other than the pushy-ness of the attitude, which might be off putting for some. We got the sheep's milk ricotta and the calamari to start. Um, DELISH! The ricotta was sublime. I could only think of the warm ricotta my mother used to make! Not often (or ever) that anyone else's food reminds me of my mom's. Score Locanda. I do have a problem with the size of the calamari, which was literally one bite for each of us (it's sliced thin, sauteed, and on a crostini toast.) For $9? That' a bit obscene, don't you think? Yummy and obscene. I wish I could have had two bites. We had the pappardelle with lamb bolognese...divine! Pasta perfectly cooked, sauce very yummy and with many layers of flavors. We had the Girondole pasta with the octopus, most amazing. Portion on the Girondole, great, a nice sized bowl, pappardelle maybe could have had another piece of pasta or two on it, but otherwise ok. We finished with the chocolate brioche bread pudding. Excellent. Can't wait to go back! Might have to make this a yearly birthday ritual.

Overpriced!
My husband insisted on having brunch so he could try the Lemon Curd Pancakes. They were delicious! I, unfortunately, had a much different take on the experience. I ordered the goat cheese and arugula ravioli in a brown butter sauce. When I asked the waitress to describe the dish she said it was, "One large ravioli with a cooked egg inside , among the other listed ingredients." I repeated to her that the egg was cooked, and she said yes. When my dish arrived, the ravioli was appetizer size, not main dish size, and worst of all the egg inside was a runny yoke egg. Apparently, a cooked egg is to be translated as a runny yoke egg. I was not happy because I didn't want a dish with a runny yoke egg, hence why I established the egg would be cooked!! Worse, the damn ravioli cost me $21.00 GROSSLY OVERPRICED. To make my experience even worse, I ordered a diet coke and then a refill and was charged $10.00. REALLY???? I asked the waiter to show me on the menu where the price of sodas is listed; it doesn't exist on the brunch menu. They charge you $5.00 for each bottle of coke and don't bother to tell you that sodas are not from a fountain, therefore, you should expect a higher price for soda and that refills are not automatic. INCREDIBLY DISSAPOINTED I would not recommend this restaurant and was thoroughly aggravated by the misspoken dish and ridiculously expensive sodas.

Fatty porchetta
The porchetta was exactly two razor thin slices, underneath a couple of bits of onions and cheese. There was more fat than meat, tasteless fat at that. Over-priced and I would recommend anyone intending on going there to give it the old body-swerve.

service
Its the second time we visit the restaurant and i can't say anything good about it besides the nice ambience and okay food. The waiter was very rude and even said we now have to get up and go speak to the manager. When the manager came was still unwilling to help us. They both acted like we were outside a popular club and they dont care since they are so busy. I would not recomend this place.

Worth the effort
Yes it is difficult to get into to but once you do you won't be disappointed. While I wasn't very impressed the first two times I went there, I have totally turned the corner and would go back in a second. This place just is fun with very good service, a great vibe and delicious food. The ricotta with grilled bread is a must as is the crudo. All of the pastas are winners and a must try. I also really enjoy the scallops and a special snapper dish they had but all the fishes are winners. The desserts are worth the calories. Period. The only downside other than trying to get a reservation is the measuring of the drinks which in a place like this is not necessary.
