Lobo is like family
We live close by and love Lobo for its fantastic company (bartenders are witty & generous), amazing food, tastey and fattening queso, and ipod. We eat here at least once a week and love the chicken fajita soft tacos, the buffalo quesadilla and any of the enchilada dishes. The margaritas are the freshest in the city and they are always coming up with great new flavors. We continuously introduce neighborhood friends to this spot. I can't even come up with a complaint other than cash only. Great brunch as well. Love you Lobo!

Great Drinks, Food, Service and Backyard
I ended up going here on a saturday night, without a reservation, with 6 friends for my birthday. I'd originally planned to go to Frankies down the street but the rudeness of their greeter drove me away (see the Frankies 457 review I wrote). We came to Lobo and were seated immediately in the backyard and were treated to GREAT mexican food, very strong and yummy margaritas, and great service from the lovely bartendress who did not remotely rush us at all, as we spent hours back there having drinks after everyone else had left the back patio. Lobo is totally my new favorite spot in the hood.

yum
i live in the neighbohood and really love this place, the food is really good, the person below me complaining about the cheese sauce doesnt know what they're talking about, they dont use cheese sauce, they use american cheese, which is different but really good, i love it, definitely try the bean dip its like a little bowl of heaven

homesick texan
i am from austin so i am serious about my tex-mex. i've lived in NY for quite some time and lobo has definitely been the closest thing to home food i've found here. i just moved to greenpoint and i miss being close to lobo so much- but i definitely think it's worth the ride on the subway. i like the crispy beef tacos as well as the cheese enchiladas. i always get the queso for an appetizer- not the best i've ever had, but BY FAR the best i've had on this side of the mississippi. the salsa is really good, and i always have to get a margarita- i think they're the best in the city. OH- and they have breakfast tacos! i usually make them myself since moving here, but i miss the days of going out for breakfast tacos. look no further, lobo has them!

Drink
If you are a drunk, homesick, Tex-mex-craving person, you'll be ok. That's all I can say because I wish this place the best! It is doing on OK job at copying Maudie's, but don't get your hopes up...

Cheese sauce?
I just tried Lobo for the first time, and felt compelled to write something here to warn other potential diners: while the staff was very helpful and the service quick, the food was not good. The beef was dry and flavorless, the cheese for the burritos was so overprocessed it was like a lump of wax (why do Mexican restaurants use processed American cheese??), and there was no salsa at all. The cheese on the chili was in fact cheese sauce (like the kind on nachos you get at a movie theater). Overall, the food was utterly flavorless and absolutely not worth the overinflated prices. Really, a big disappointment.

tex mex to the max
a great place for a taste of home...if you are from the western US, which i am so it's perfect...real queso sause and good solid all-around tex mex. i could bathe in the guacomole and wash my hair in the margaritas...seriously nothing better than a lobo margarita...or 12
