The food was good - gumbo, crab cakes, seared tuna salad, etc. Not the best but good. The service however was not very good. No water refills whatsoever, and we had to practically beg to get a check or have the plates cleared, despite numerous wait staff walking by.

There could be more choices of drink specials for happy hour, but the ones they have aren't bad. The food is always good. You really can't go wrong. Appetizers, salads, bbq & southern styled sandwich's and entrees are all good. The greens, sweet potatoes and macaroni and cheese taste like Mom's...

I went with my friends on recommendation and we had a great time. The food was good and so was the service. We were able to laugh and talk as loud as we wanted without anyone complaining which is a big deal for us. The drinks were pretty good too they weren't watered down either. I recommend Live Bait to anyone out for some fun with friends

I had been reccommended this place by friends and found it a nice laid back place to sit and have a lager and some nice white bait. The whole atmosphere is very relaxed and the value for money is very good in a good location. I couldn't find many places like this in new york where you could sit and have a lager and a nice snack around this part of town.

The waitresses and the service were ehh, but I really like the food so I come back often anyway.

I work in the area, and eat at this place once a week. The food is very good, and comes out very fast. The menu is very broad American, with something for everyone. They consistently have some of the best looking waitresses in the city. One of the best things are the reasonable prices. Try the pork sandwich for $8, comes with nice side salad. My favorite, the Grilled Shrimp and Chicken Salad, over salad greens. The decor achieves exactly what it shoots for...cheap bait shack. It can get a little loud, but it's a fun place to meet friends after work or on any weekend day.

Considering all of the great choices in NY, this place is a pass. The muffins (in lieu of regular bread) were cold, the fish and chips were catfish instead of traditional cod (with no warning), the fries nothing special, and the drink service (water refills) lacking. Unmemorable.
