Great pierogi
I'm a regular. I always get different kinds of pierogi, and they're all good--cheese, spinach, "meat" (don't know what kind of meat, don't care), potato, kasha... I tried the combination platter once, and it was pretty good (and a TON of food), but it's hard to come here and not order pierogi. Go for the healthier option and get them boiled. Thanks to MenuPages and the other reviewers for introducing me to one of my favorite restaurants in the city!

A real good, real New York diner!
If you're looking for just a good, regular diner, this is it. Come here for your breakfast coffee, eggs, and toast, your burgers, fries, and club sandwiches, or your dinner "steaks-chops-and seafood". It's just like the real-deal pre-90's, non-chain, authentic Greek diners you used to find everywhere but which are now a dying breed. Of course, where the Greek diners had spinach pies, this place has potato pancakes, blintzes, and stuffed cabbage (which was delicious). One problem -- it doesn't actually say "diner" on the awning, so it's hard to tell that it's a restaurant as opposed to, say, a Polish social club when you pass by. But when you do pass by, or even when you don't, go to this place if you want to go to a good regular diner. It's ethnic, but not Greek -- which is all that distinguishes it from the favorite diners you went to as a kid. I lived across the street two years before actually venturing in. Doh!

Decent place
Bigger place compared to other places, decent food, but nothing to write home about, pretty good service although.

Comforting food, funny artwork, cute waitress
I really had no clue polish food existed outside of my Babka's kitchen. So coming upon this little beauty was exiting. We walked in and sat down immediatley, I looked at the menu and laughed out loud at the heading "Our food is as good as music of Chopin" On the wall, next to the paintings of the ideal polish countryside, there sat framed picture of how to preform CPR, just in case any of the staff forgot.I got an amazing meal of Pierogi, stuffed cabbage and Kielbasa! It was incredible! Tasted better than any Polish food Ive ever made or tasted! Simply brilliant. I think the fact that our waitress was absolutley cute as all get out helped too. Anyway, I'd definatley love to go back next time im in the East Village!

Great home cooking
Little Poland is all I hoped it would be. Wonderful, home style food in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I had a fantastic roast pork dinner that was better than I've had in many, many places over the years. Memories of home came flooding back to me as I ate the succulent roast that was falling apart inside of a tasty crust. I left happy and satisfied.

Nanny is turning in her grave!
Today I am traveling 40 blocks to stock up on the split pea soup. Being pretty much exclusively a split pea loyalist this is by far the best split EVER! Sorry nanny. While there I will try a bowl of their mushroom barely my second favorite soup (there are no others). Hopefully I will be able to stock up on that one as well. I suspect I will. Can't wait to go!!!
