Authentic Cuban food at its best!

This restaurant is a real gem. The food is exquisite, the atmosphere intimate, the service friendly. Our favorite dishes are chorizo, plantaines, ropa vieja, picadillo, and varadero rice. We regularly enjoy this authentic Cuban restaurant and we highly recommend to everyone!

    Does Not Honor Reservations

Went here last night. Had a reservation. Out table was going to be ready in 10 minutes. We waited outside in below freezing temps. After 20 minutes we inquired about a status. We were told it was going to be another 30 minutes. Why bother making a reservation. I know six people that will never go back to this place. We went up the street and had delicious Thai.

    awesome authentic food

this restaurant is awesome. the food is prepared by someone that actually grew up in cuba in the 1950's and totally understands what cuban food should be like.

    Pretty Good Food

I ordered the filet, and at only $19, it was a deal. I was very much impressed by the taste, and I'd go back to order it again. The ceviche, although not your typical ceviche, was very very tasty as well. My girlfriend got the ropa vieja, which was pretty good as well. The service was terribly slow, but it was a great little place with good food.

    just ok

Went here recently with my boyfriend who is puertorican. I ordered the arroz con pollo and he ordered the ropa vieja. The arroz con pollo was missing some acidity and tasted like something you could make at home or just order from down the block. It didn't wow me. My boyfriend said the ropa vieja was NOT tasteful and he has been served much better food elsewhere. I.E. in Jersey or uptown. We ordered a pitcher of sangria and that was actually very good. The service was not friendly and overall we will never go back here. I was excited to try this place but for the prices of food and service its not worth it. Don't waste your time.

    Ropa Vieja

Best ropa vieja in the city. The other stuff on the menu is good, but you have to try to ropa. As far as atmosphere goes, it's a little crowded but what place isn't in the West Village?

    Awesome!

I have been going to this place since it opened. Reasonably priced. Great value for your money. My husband is cuban and he says the food is just like moms home cooking. Best flan in the city, filet mignon, ropa vieja, chorizos, tamales, you name it it's great. Lidia the owner wonderful lady just like grandma, fast, courteous service. You want home cooking this is it! Guaranteed to make your day!
