Great food!
Refreshing to see a restaurant that actually focuses on the food. Food was really good, goat cheese peppers were amazing and scallops were tasty (and plentiful). Service a bit slow and desserts were not their specialty. Overall a great experience and would return to see what the always changing menu has to offer.

A perfect date
My girlfriend took me here for our anniversary and it was wonderful. It was quiet (we went early), the service was good and the appetizers, desserts and cocktails were to die for. The main dishes weren't quite as delicious, but everything else was so perfect, I didn't mind. Oh and the bathroom is adorable.

Great! Great! Great!
My boyfriend and I arrived at 7:30pm on a busy Saturday night without a reservation. They could not have been more gracious and gave us a table right away in their tiny space. Everything we had was amazing: a delious corn soup, roasted beets with blue cheese, pulled pork with an amazing chive scone, scallops with mint pureed peas and mache salad, ice cream sandwiches and berry shortcake. They have great cocktails and a lovely wine list too. The waitresses were wonderful, friendly and attentive and the owners/chefs were also very friendly. The only thing that would have made our dinner better was if the air conditioning could have been just a little stronger as it was a sweltering night and it was a tad hot in the restaurant. Otherwise, I can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu.

A Giant Surprise
I came to LG shortly after they opened and have returned 7 times since. This is definitely one of my top 5 restaurants of 2005. I have had meals of selections of appetizers and small plates, such as cured meats and cheeses, salads made with local greens, tangy pickled root vegetables, etc. And I have tried the perfectly prepared lamb chops in a nut crust, diver scallops with a minty pea puree, and a couple of steak specials, each without complaints. The small room is always comfortable, the service is friendly and never pushy, and the chef-owners deserve all the kudos they get. Oh, and don't forget the bar, with a wise wine list and great cocktail specials, such as the City's most well prepared Darn-&-Stormy.

Playing the same song...
Food = excellent bordering on outstanding. Owners = Delightful. Ambiance = Great. Service = Still needs to work out some kinks. In a sea of mundane NY restaurants, LG is a breath of culinary fresh air w/super fresh seasonal ingredients and innovative, well executed dishes (plus a great wine list to boot). Recent dishes that were superlative included the scallops, caviatelli and summer salad -- all terrific. I just wish the service were a tad bit tighter but I'll definitely be back for brunch on Sat or Sun. When I don't need to go anywhere for a little while...

Mixed Opinion
You'd think this place was trying to lose my business. I went with a party of five and though seated promptly we were forgot about just as soon as we sat down. Our waitress visited our table five times throughout the night... 1st to seat us, 2nd (at our request) was to take a drink and food order, 3rd was to spill my drink on me, 4th was to serve our food, 5th (again at our request) was to take a second drink order and 6th (again at our request) was to drop our check. The food was excellent and the atmosphere wonderful- although without A/C it was horribly hot- but the service was just plain poor. To add insult to injury they gave the two person table next to us a free dessert- while I went home soaking wet and sticky from the drink they dropped in my lap. I'll give them a second chance when the weather cools down and they get some experience under their belt but if the service doesn't improve that will be the last time.

Love this yummy LES newcomer!
In the short time that it has been open, Little Giant has become one of my favorite restaruants in the city. The decor and atmosphere (especially the music) are fun, yet laid-back, the drinks are creative and provide a good choice for any taste, and the food is EXCELLENT. My favorite items on the menu are the chicken liver mousse (unbelievably yummy), the sausage plate (each of the homemade mustards as something different and delicious), the scallops with butternut squash puree (in the perfect portion size to savor but not be overwhelmed) and the sticky toffee pudding (my new favourite dessert in NYC, bar none). I will definitely keep going back, and I've recommended Little Giant to all my friends as well!
