Baristas couldn't be nicer - and they make an amazing Nutella Latte and Skinny Mocha! Worth the visit

Extremely disappointed with everything. Service staff was more interested in smoking outside then assisting or getting prices right for customers. Pastries tasted like they were defrosted and then heated up. Prices are ridiculous and the majority of the seats are occupied by people for hours surfing the internet after their $7 purchase.

I saw that for some unearthly reason this place has only three stars and felt obligated to write a review. This place is amazing. The coffee drinks are incredible, and the baristas are always very kind. They do a great job! Its the best cappuccino I've had in New York. And they will drizzle their incredible chocolate over the top of the cappuccino for you. The chocolate here is to die for. Between the hot chocolate, the cookies, the pancake bites drizzled with chocolate, you really can't go wrong. It is definitely worth a trip up to the UES to visit Little Brown. There is a chain coffeehouse right across the street and after trying this place, you can't help but judge whoever chose to walk into that over Little Brown. Whether you want a great coffee to start off your day, or a sweet pick me-up after work...Little Brown has it all.

Went here for the famed Nutella hot chocolate. Overcrowded, not enough space to accommodate long-lingering customers (their largest customer base: girls coming for a long chat); good luck finding a seat for more than one. Everything is expensive, better to get a meal elsewhere for a drink here the same price. The hot chocolate itself was delicious, get the small size; it's like drinking a Mon Cheri chocolate.

While the food is good and exotic, there is no getting past the incredibly condescending, unprofessional and demeaning workers. Last week, I ordered a salted caramel hot chocolate, which, once I actually got it, was delicious; however, I walked in and told the cashier what I wanted. She replied, "oh, we don't have that today", to which I responded that I would order something else instead. The cashier answered, "Oh, we DO have the salted caramel hot chocolate today, I was just joking, but apparently you don't have a sense of humor so you didn't get it." I was amazed at her incredible rudeness and simply responded, "Oh." She answered back, "Either that, or you're not very intelligent." Now, I am not saying that all employees will act in such a manner, but I certainly did not enjoy my experience. So, if you do not mind smart-alec workers and care mainly for the food, little brown would be just fine.

New to the neighborhood having recently moved up from downtown, I was ready to resign myself to a chain coffee place as my go-to coffee shop till I found Little Brown. I didn't really think I would find anything like it anywhere near chain-laden 86th Street. But I am now a regular and have quickly converted by husband as well. Their ice coffee has gotten us through many a groggy morning with our infant and has been a summer staple. Their lemonade is equally tasty. The brownies and monkey bread are fantastic though too decadent for everyday. And the staff is really convivial and friendly sometimes singing along to the soundtrack in the shop which they seem to know by heart. As I slowly discover more about this neighborhood, I am relieved to have at least one place where I look forward to going and where I already feel like a welcome regular.

it's always busy. which has its ups and downs - the brownies are so good I would be in there every day, so probably a good thing that they are busy. Also I have tried their mocha and I have to say if you like a chocolatey mocha it was really delicious. Also the peanut butter hot chocolate was so yummy! The service isn't as bad as everyone says. I found them very friendly and helpful (one guy helped hold the door open for me when I left so I could get out with the stroller).
