We came for the cheesecake. Big mistake. This is not the famous cheesecake of the past. It's a cheap imitation. Food is overpriced, and just avg. Typical tourist trap that is living off a reputation that died many years ago.

Six of us went there today and got ripped off. $18.95 for a roast beef sandwich and thats just one example. Like others have posted, we should have left after seeing the menu. We are definitely going back, be seated, look at the menu and then leave. This

tourist trap - way over priced ( even for NYC ) and average food at best. Not worth it. Many better alternatives nearby.

I visited this diner about three times during a stay in New York . I have to say the breakfast was the best I had during my stay, and the service from the different wait on staff was great.

Like 99% of the reviews here: yes it is expensive. BUT... they have a great steak and eggs breakfast. One of the very few places that serve steak and eggs and even w/ the slightly overpriced bill you get it is worth it.
